  • Publication number: 20210255199
Abstract: Certain embodiments of the present invention relate to methods and products for use in the determination of treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Particularly, although not exclusively, embodiments of the present invention relate to predicting the likelihood of a patient suffering from rheumatoid arthritis maintaining remission following cessation of disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs). Certain embodiments of the present invention are based on the determination of certain biomarkers of drug-free remission in RA following cessation of DMARD therapy.

  • Patent number: 9938933
Abstract: A fuel system includes an air and fuel mixer configured to mix air and fuel provided to a combustion engine and a fuel path coupled to the air and fuel mixer. The fuel path includes an electronically controlled fuel control valve configured to regulate an air to fuel ratio of an air/fuel mixture provided to the engine, a gas pressure regulator disposed upstream of the fuel control valve and configured to control a pressure of the fuel in relation to an air pressure of the air and fuel mixer, and a manual adjust valve disposed downstream of the gas pressure regulator and configured to mechanically tune a performance of the fuel path to minimize an adjustment by the electronically controlled fuel control valve to regulate the air to fuel ratio. The fuel system is configured to operate with different fuels that differ in physical and chemical properties.

  • Patent number: 9745903
Abstract: A dual fuel system for a combustion engine includes an air and fuel mixer configured to mix air and fuel provided to the combustion engine, a first fuel path for a first fuel, and a second fuel path for a second fuel. The first and second fuels have different physical and chemical properties. The dual fuel system also includes a common fuel path coupled to the air and fuel mixer and both the first and second fuel paths, wherein the common fuel path includes an electronically controlled valve configured to regulate the air to fuel ratio of an air/fuel mixture provided to the combustion engine in response to control signals from a controller, and both the first and second fuel paths are coupled to the common fuel path at a location upstream of the electronically controlled valve.

  • Patent number: 6457984
Abstract: In the jackbox of the present invention, a number of electrical connectors are releasably connectable to electrical leads carrying electrical signals representative of at least one physiological patient parameter from the patient to patient monitoring equipment. Preferably, the jackbox has an openable enclosure for gaining access to electrical connectors therein. When closed, the enclosure preferably substantially surrounds the electrical connectors and ends of the electrical leads. The enclosure can have a clamshell, book, or other form as desired. Although an openable enclosure is preferred, some embodiments of the jackbox have no enclosure or have an enclosure not permitting user access to the interior thereof. Enclosures according to different embodiments of the present invention are made of resilient and relatively non-deformable, semi-deformable, or deformable material.

  • Patent number: 4726382
Abstract: An inflatable cuff is disclosed for encircling a patient's finger and which includes a light source and a light detector constructed in a way to detect the movement, or lack of movement, of arterial passages within the finger. The cuff is comprised of an inflatable bladder that contacts the patient finger; having a tubing provided for inflation and deflation of the bladder. Surrounding the external surface of the bladder from the finger is a metalized backing that covers and shields the inflatable bladder. A flexible circuit is affixed to the metalized backing and to which is attached the light source and light detector and which further includes wiring from the light detector and light source to a connector at its distal end for connection to further circuiting. Further, surrounding the flexible circuit is a electrical and light shielding and label that covers the flexible circuit and which provides shielding as well as a means of affixing the inflatable cuff to the patients finger.
