  • Patent number: 6772656
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for attaching a needle housing or tube to the frame of a tattoo machine which facilitates cleaning and sterilization. The apparatus, or tube vice, comprises a tube which houses a needle which moves in and out of the subject's skin during tattooing, a hollow cylinder, a split ring ferrule and a compression nut. The tube is inserted into the hollow cylinder and the ferrule slides over the tube. The ferrule, nut and the hollow cylinder have beveled edges which mate. The nut slides over the tube to screw onto the hollow cylinder thereby compressing the ferrule against the tube without bending or crimping the tube. A tube grip may be attached to the tube. A method of manufacturing the tube vice is also disclosed. The tube vice can be provided in kit format.

  • Publication number: 20020083798
Abstract: On all modern tattoo machines, the tube grip is a removable part that houses the needle bar, which holds the needle groupings that move into and out of the skin in the act of tattooing. The tube grip and needle groupings must be removable to allow for cleaning and sterilization.

  • Publication number: 20020050884
Abstract: This invention is intended to improve the electromagnetic coil technology currently used in tattoo machines. Existing coil technology generates electromagnetism that causes a round steel post to alternately repel and attract an armature bar, moving a needle bar and attached needle groupings into and out of the skin in the act of tattooing. The Square Electromagnetic Coil Bobbin Assembly uses a square steel post instead of a round post, increasing the surface area where the post contacts the armature bar and improving the magnetism and general movement of the bar. Increasing the amount of metal-to-metal contact results in significant improvements in the overall functioning of the tattoo machine and the operator's ability to achieve more solid color, smoother shading, and more consistent lines, all of which depend on the rate of movement of the armature bar.

  • Patent number: 6047777
Abstract: There are described a method and a device for suppressing an explosion-like fire, in particular of hydrocarbons, by means of a fire extinguishing agent, which under pressure at a speed adapted to the speed of propagation of the fire is distributed in the space directly surrounding the source of the fire. To ensure an efficient fire fighting without adversely influencing the environment, it is proposed to spray water as fire extinguishing agent by atomizing the same to form a water mist in a minimum amount of 0.03 l/m.sup.3 from a water reservoir (3) in the space directly surrounding the source of the fire.

  • Patent number: 5930865
Abstract: The assembly comprises an extension spring anchored at one end to a winch mounted to the door opening frame. A double-grooved pulley is mounted on a plate secured to the free end of the spring. A fixed second double-grooved pulley is mounted to the door frame. A pair of cables are anchored at one end to the door frame and extend in parallel to pass around the two pulleys. After the second pulley, the cables separate and extend down to the bottom corners of the door, to which they are secured. Upon release of the door latch with the door down, the spring contracts and, through the first pulley, applies an equal pull to the two cables so that they move at the same rate, thereby raising the door smoothly.

  • Patent number: 4847599
Abstract: A fluid leak detector has a body with a chamber provided with a fluid inlet and outlet. A valve is disposed between the inlet and outlet and the valve closure member is connected to a diaphragm. Fluid in the chamber applies pressure on the diaphragm and the detector includes means which allow the valve to be open at a pressure greater than a predetermined value and cause the valve to close at pressures below that value, which may be due to a fluid leak. The detector has a safety lock-off mechanism which locks the valve once it has closed and which must be reset to allow the valve to open when fluid pressure has been restored. The detector also provides a visual indication of fluid leaks. A fluid supply installation incorporating the fluid leak detector will shut down the fluid supply if a leak is detected.

  • Patent number: 4657448
Abstract: A pantograph angular bitted key cutting machine is provided which facilitates the replication of angular bitted keys, commonly known as MEDECO.RTM. keys by automatically replicating the position, depth and angularity of each tooth. Accurate angularity, the most difficult of the variables to replicate, is assured by ensuring that the center of rotation of the angular tooth wall is perpendicular to the radius of the cutting head. Two major embodiments are provided. In the first, the cutting head and the guide which aligns with the original key are fixed in the same line. In the second embodiment the guide and the original key are placed directly behind the cutting head and the blank duplicate key.

  • Patent number: 4089478
Abstract: A seed mill is described, particularly suitable for grinding wheat to produce flour for home-made bread, in which two rollers are rotatable with respect to one another in an open topped housing which is formed in two parts. The rollers are horizontally and vertically offset with respect to one another. An adjustment screw is provided to pivot the two housing parts towards and away from one another whereby a fine adjustment of the spacing between the rollers can be achieved.
