    Abstract: Various methods are disclosed for identifying faults in a seismic data volume. In some method embodiments, the fault identification method comprises determining a planarity value for each of multiple positions of an analysis window in the data volume. The planarity value may be indicative of the planarity of discontinuities in the analysis window, and may be further filtered by limits on the verticality and centrality of the discontinuities. Thus a filter may be determined for suppressing relatively non-planar, relatively non-vertical, and relatively un-centered discontinuities from a discontinuity display, thereby enhancing a display of faults present in the seismic data volume.

    Abstract: Various methods for measuring continuity and discontinuity of a seismic data set. One method embodiment includes: a) detecting seismic energy with an array of detectors; b) converting detection signals from the array of detectors into data representing one or more attributes as a function of position for subsurface formations; c) systematically obtaining subsets of the data as vector sets; and d) for each vector set: (1) combining vectors from the vector set to determine a representative vector for the vector set; and (2) calculating a continuity or discontinuity measurement with respect to the representative vector. In various embodiments, the continuity or discontinuity measurement may be expressible as a fraction of vector set energy derived from vector components aligned with or deviating from the representative vector.

    Abstract: A liquid level electrical alarm apparatus includes a perforated hollow cylindrical sensor housing having upper and lower cup-shaped caps. A cylindrical float contained within the sensor housing contains a permanent magnet near its upper end, effective in closing the contact bars of a reed switch element mounted in the upper cap when the float rises a pre-determined level. The sensor body is suspended by a flexible electrical cable connected to the upper cap. Means are provided for adjusting the length of cable from which the sensor is suspended into a vessel, thereby permitting adjustment of the liquid level which trips the alarm.
