Patent number: 12404844Abstract: Electroaerodynamic devices and their methods of operation are disclosed. In one embodiment, ions are formed by dielectric barrier discharge using a time-varying voltage differential applied between a first electrode and a second electrode. The ions are then accelerated in a downstream direction using a second voltage differential applied between a third electrode and the first and/or second electrodes, where the third electrode is located downstream from the first and second electrodes. The ions may then collide with naturally charged molecules and/or atoms within a fluid to accelerate the fluid in the downstream to create an ionic wind and an associated thrust.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2022Date of Patent: September 2, 2025Assignee: Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyInventors: Steven Barrett, Haofeng Xu, Arthur Brown, Nicolas Gomez Vega

Publication number: 20240251992Abstract: A food grilling device for clamping food items for grilling includes a clamping module, which is complementarily to a cooking grid of a grill. The clamping module can be positioned upon or removably replace the cooking grid. The clamping module comprises first and second handles to which is attached a pair of grates. At least one grate is hingable relative to the first handle. The grates are selectively positionable in open and closed configurations, wherein one grate extends angularly from the other and wherein the grates are substantially parallel planar, respectively. The second handle is hingedly attached to one grate and is selectively attachable to the other grate. The clamping module thus can clamp onto a food item with the first and second handles enabling a user to flip the clamping module and the food item, as needed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2023Publication date: August 1, 2024Inventor: Arthur Brown

Publication number: 20160349728Abstract: A system and method that remotely monitors and controls proppant usage in a fracturing operation. The system and method allow operators to wirelessly monitor and control proppant storage units from inside a datavan through sensors and control mechanisms that interface with fracturing software to schedule the flow of the proppant. A sensor monitors the weight, container level, or volume of the proppant being used to keep the induced hydraulic fracture open. A serial to Ethernet converter converts this information and sends it wirelessly to a datavan. A user at the datavan controls the proppant usage through a display in the datavan of the storage units with the appropriate weight. The container monitoring software links with the fracturing software, providing real-time information about proppant usage so that the user can properly schedule proppant flow to the well through valves, conveyor belts, and other control mechanisms.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2016Publication date: December 1, 2016Applicant: US Well Services LLCInventors: Jared OEHRING, Brandon Neil HINDERLITER, Arthur BROWN
