  • Patent number: 6352450
Abstract: An electrical connector for connecting an electrical cable to a conductive member having an electrically conductive female member and a substantially continuous electrically conductive male member. The female member has an open-ended longitudinal slot with a width A and a plurality of electrically conductive tines mounted in the slot. The male member is formed from an open-ended hollow tube with the electrical cable inserted into the open end. The tube and the cable are simultaneously compressed, thereby coupling the cable within the tube and forming a planar tab with substantially parallel first and second sides defining a height B and a width C. The planar tab is received within the longitudinal slot of the female member, the parallel sides of the planar tab contacting the electrically conductive tines.

  • Patent number: 6343963
Abstract: An electrical connector for connecting an electrical cable to a conductive member having a first member electrically coupled to the electrical cable, a second member, and a threaded screw. The first member has a rod, a projection and a distal end and the second member has a threaded passageway, and two arms swaged around the rod and engaging the projection, allowing the first and second members to rotate relative to one another. The threaded screw engages the threaded passageway and can be threaded onto engagement with the projection, which in turn tightly engages the arms of the second member, thereby preventing relative rotation of the first member and the second member. Due to the large surface contact area, a low voltage drop occurs across the connector.
