  • Patent number: 6504410
Abstract: A storage cell of an integrated circuit is operable in a radiation environment to capture and store at predetermined time intervals a time sample of a data input signal. A signal representative of the stored data sample for each time interval is generated at an output of the storage cell. At least three data capturing circuits operate to capture and store a time sample of the data input signal at each predetermined time interval, the stored data sample of each circuit being generated correspondingly at an output thereof. Coupled to the outputs of the data capturing circuits is a circuit for generating a signal representative of a stored data sample selected from at least two of the circuit outputs. Also coupled to the data capturing circuits is a circuit for causing each data capturing circuit to capture a different time sample of the input data signal from the other data capturing circuits over each predetermined time interval.

  • Patent number: 5877995
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for a new type of geophysical prospecting. The method applies an electric field to a fluid-containing porous subsurface formation to create a fluid pulse from changes in the polarization of pore fluid dipoles. The fluid pulse propagates in the subsurface as a seismic wave that may be detected by an appropriate array of seismic detectors. The apparatus is a pulsed DC or AC source for generating an applied electric field and a seismic detector.

  • Patent number: 5689302
Abstract: A conventional definition camera acquires video data relating to a portion of an image to be televised and stores the data in a higher definition capacity store. The camera is panned and tilted to acquire data relating to other parts of the image. A motion detector determines the degree of movement of the camera and controls the writing of data to the store. A spatio-temporal interpolator interpolates the video data to correct for spatial or sensitivity incompatibilities. The output from the store may again be spatio-temporally interpolated by an interpolator under control of the motion detector to compensate for movement within the image to be televised. In a further embodiment image data is acquired by a plurality of overlapping lower definition sources.

  • Patent number: 4086436
Abstract: Each of first N flip-flop stages, where N is an integer greater than one, has steered thereto an appropriate one of N bits of the data to be transmitted by a transmit write counter and a first N stage decoder under control of a transmit write clock. A transmit read counter under control of a transmit read clock steers the stored bits to a transmit data bus by means of a first multiplexer and first logic circuitry under control of a transmit read counter and a transmit channel timing signal. Each of second N flip-flop stages has steered thereto an appropriate one of N bits of received data by a receive write counter and a second N stage decoder under control of a receive write clock. A receive read counter under control of a receive read clock steers the stored bits to a receive data bus by means of a second multiplexer and second logic circuitry under control of the receive read counter.
