  • Patent number: 4657458
Abstract: A one-piece molded plastic reusable internally threaded anchor nut removably insertable in a mounting hole in a workpiece and adapted to receive a screw comprises two sections which are joined together by an integrally formed web or hinge. When the sections are folded together, they define an internally threaded screw-receiving passage and an external releasable locking mechanism for securing the anchor nut in the mounting hole. In one embodiment the portions defining the screw-receiving passage are bifurcated and expand outwardly as the screw is inserted so as to cause the external locking mechanism (i.e., in the form of slots on the exterior of the bifurcations) to engage the edge of the mounting hole in which the nut was previously inserted. In other embodiments, the external locking mechanism (i.e.

  • Patent number: 4534530
Abstract: A two-piece molded plastic support assembly for mounting on a wall or door panel of a storage refrigerator or freezer compartment, comprises a grommet member which is insertable into a preformed hole from the front side of the panel and further comprises a support member which is detachably mounted on the grommet member to operatively engage a shelf or drawer or a door handle for the storage compartment. The grommet member has a grommet shank insertable into the hole on the panel's front side (prior to in-situ application of liquid insulating foam to the panel's rear side). The grommet shank comprises a resilient annular grommet flange engageable with the panel's front side to seal the panel hole against foam or air leakage and also comprises releasable exterior locking tabs for engaging the panel's rear side to lock the grommet member in place and to effect sealing action of the grommet flange. The grommet shank also has a blind bore extending axially thereinto from its front end.

  • Patent number: 4272111
Abstract: A safety anchor latch device for a metallic latch strike including a plastic latch and a metallic spring member having positive position retaining means and positive strike gripping means which at normal operating temperatures are inoperative and supported by the elements of said plastic latch in space relation to a supporting work structure and the metallic latch strike respectively but which positively engages and retains same when said plastic latch is destroyed by abnormally elevated temperatures.

  • Patent number: 4193310
Abstract: This invention relates to a two piece plastic idler pulley formed of identical portions including a hub, a web and a rim with identical fastening means on the two half portions which permit the two portions to be joined together as the idler pulley. The hub of the idler pulley has a through bore which is inversely tapered whereby the hub will flex when subjected to a workload and will capture the lubricant internally of the bore. The rim carries diverging means which extend radially and laterally outwardly from the rim to insure proper seating of power transmission means such as a belt. The diverging means also is capable of engaging the power transmission belt when it is inadvertently seated on the hub to move the belt into seated relationship on the rim for proper operation of the device.
