    Abstract: A vehicle mounted boom apparatus includes a lower boom member pivotally mounted on the vehicle and an upper boom member pivotally connected to the lower boom member. An elongate chain saw mechanism includes an elongate support arm shiftable mounted on the upper boom member to permit pivoting movement of the chain saw mechanism relative to the upper boom member about a pair of pivotal axes disposed substantially normal to each other. The chain saw mechanism is also provided with power shifting means to rotate the chain saw mechanism about its longitudinal axis relative to the upper boom member.
