    Abstract: 2-(2- or 3-Indolyl)indolines, unsubstituted and carbon substituted, condense with N-mono substituted carboxamides or with lactams under the influence of phosphorus oxychloride to produce 1-(N-substituted iminoalkyl)-2-(2- or 3-indolyl)indolines. The 2-(3-indolyl)-1-[2-(1-pyrrolinyl)]indolines rearrange to produce benzodiazepine derivatives. These products have diuretic, antituromobogenic, and antiarrhythmic activity on oral administration.
