  • Publication number: 20230268139
Abstract: A high current switching device includes an electrical switch assembly and an input shaft operatively connected to the electrical switch assembly. An actuator assembly is attached to the input shaft and is configured to move the input shaft to operate the electrical switch assembly. The actuator assembly includes a mechanical advantage device operatively attached to the input shaft. An actuator is coupled to the mechanical advantage device such that movement of the actuator causes movement of the input shaft to operate the electrical switch assembly. The mechanical advantage device is configured to decrease an amount of force required to move the input shaft by the actuator.

  • Publication number: 20070212932
Abstract: A busway fitting wherein the switch and/or fuse are disposed in a horizontal orientation. As the switch assembly and/or fuse are disposed in a horizontal orientation, the buses coupled to the switch assembly and/or fuse also extend horizontally. As such, the buses coupled to the switch assembly and/or fuse occupy a reduced amount of space. In this configuration, the transition buses may extend in a generally horizontal direction and such, the size of the busway fitting may be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20060012934
Abstract: A fuse is adapted for electrical connection between a first low voltage power bus and a second low voltage power bus. The fuse includes one or more pairs of first and second spacer laminations. The first and second spacer laminations have a first area. The fuse also includes a plurality of fuse element laminations, each of which includes a first portion laminated to the first spacer lamination of one or two of the pairs, a second portion laminated to the second spacer lamination of the one or two of the pairs, and a third portion disposed between the first and second portions and intermediate the first and second spacer laminations of the one or two of the pairs. The first and second portions of the fuse element laminations have a second area, which is about equal to the first area.

  • Publication number: 20060012954
Abstract: A network protector that includes a housing assembly, a circuit breaker, a control assembly, and a convention cooling assembly. The housing assembly is structured to form an enclosure and has a bus assembly coupled to an interior wall. The circuit breaker is structured to engaged the bus assembly within the housing assembly. The convection cooling assembly is coupled to the housing assembly and is structured to move air over the bus assembly.

  • Publication number: 20050207085
Abstract: A network protector that includes an enclosure, a frame assembly, a plurality of electrical components, including a circuit breaker, and an arc path assembly. The frame assembly is disposed within said enclosure. The plurality of electrical components is coupled to the frame assembly. The circuit breaker has at least one set of main contacts and at least one are chute associated with set of main contacts. The arc path assembly has a hollow member having at least one open end. The hollow member in fluid communication with the arc chute and the hollow member open end extends beyond said frame assembly. Thus, arc gasses traveling from the arc chute through the hollow member are exhausted into said enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20050122203
Abstract: A power circuit includes a first low voltage power bus, a second low voltage power bus, a fuse electrically connected between the first low voltage power bus and the second low voltage power bus, and a fuse barrier. The fuse has a non-interrupted state and an interrupted state. The fuse barrier includes a spring having a first end and a second end, a fastener connecting the first end of the spring to one of the first low voltage power bus and the second low voltage power bus, and an insulating barrier. The insulating barrier is disposed from the second end of the spring. The insulating barrier engages a portion of the fuse in the non-interrupted state thereof. The spring drives a portion of the insulating barrier through the fuse in the interrupted state thereof.
