    Abstract: A template retaining wall for use in marine environments is composed of a plurality of interconnected, piled, prefabricated templates. Each template comprises a series of vertically extending, horizontally spaced apart legs and a series of battered, horizontally spaced apart legs. The legs are interconnected by horizontally and diagonally extending truss/strut members. A track guide is positioned on one lateral end of each template and a rider guide is positioned on the other lateral end of each template. The rider guide on one template engages the track on an adjacent template. A metal sheet pile is welded between each of the vertical legs and piles, extend through each of the legs into the ground underlying the water. The retaining wall may be curved into a circular configuration to enclose and retain an artificial island or may be formed into other shapes.

Each anode pod unit comprises a plurality of anodes attached to a top tubular ring and a base tubular ring larger than the top tubular ring to form a conically-shaped unit. An electrical conductor cable connects each anode pod unit to the offshore structure.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus for joining two or more substructure components of an offshore platform in the water to form a unitary substructure component or jacket. An offshore platform to be located in deep water includes a jacket having at least two sections each composed of at least three legs. The legs are hollow and compartmented and provided with means to adjust the buoyancy of each leg. Each section is launched separately and floated in the at least one leg at or above the water's surface. One of the sections is floated toward a selected shore site until its submerged leg or legs are grounded and the jacket section made negatively buoyant. Another jacket section is floated to the shore site and its legs are aligned with the legs of the already grounded section. The companion legs of each section are then joined to form a unitized jacket. The other jacket section may also be grounded and made negatively buoyant prior to joining the two sections.

An offshore platform is located in deep water by dividing a jacket or support of extensive length therefor into at least two sections which have only sufficient buoyancy to float at water surface when the sections are launched from at least a vessel at a selected location. The sections are aligned and connected together. Guide means ensure proper alignment of the legs of the sections. Access tubes from the surface of the water to the hollow legs permit direct internal welding in securing the legs of the sections together. The sections are then sunk at the selected location until the jacket is in an upright position at which point it is anchored by driving piling through the jacket's hollow legs into the sea floor, following which the deck of the platform is placed or stabbed on the anchored jacket.
