  • Patent number: 4320910
Abstract: A protective shield is disclosed for preventing materials which spray through the gap in an opened flange connection from striking the person who opens the connection. The shield is made up of an inner ring and outer ring, joined only at their ends. When the shield is placed over a flange connection, the ends of the rings are spaced apart slightly so that the flange gap is not completely covered. The shield is positioned so that the space between the rings is on the opposite side of the flanges from the person who is opening the connection. As the connection is opened, any material which might spray through the flange gap is confined by the inner ring, such that it will flow around the flange and discharge through the space between the rings.

  • Patent number: 4246728
Abstract: A tool for cleaning, deburring, burnishing, or otherwise treating an end of a tubular conduit comprises a rotatable body coupled to a carrier provided with an abrading substance. In one form the carrier may be accommodated within the conduit, whereas in another form the carrier is adapted to accommodate the conduit. In each case the carrier is axially slotted to enable it to expand and contract radially to cause the abrading material to engage the conduit. The body and the carrier are telescoped for relative movement and are provided with complementally tapered surfaces which react in response to relative telescopic movements to effect radial expansion and contraction of the carrier.

  • Patent number: 4006324
Abstract: The invention is a positive lockout means for circuit breakers in an electrical distribution box wherein a central bar extends from top to bottom of the box between the arrays of circuit breakers. The bar has an array of bores extending into the bar from the top side of the distribution. Rod-like locking elements having a configuration which permits one end of the locking element to pass into a bore in a circuit breaker actuator while the other end is inserted in a bore in the bar to prevent movement of the actuator element so secured. Positive lockout is provided by a cover plate which is positively secured in position over the central bar.
