  • Patent number: 6608641
Abstract: A printer for printing color toner images on a receiver member of any of a variety of textures. The printer has a number of tandemly arranged electrophotographic image-forming modules respectively including a plurality of imaging subsystems to form a colored toner image transferred to a receiver member, the transfer of toner images from each of the modules forming a color print of the receiver member which is fused to form a desired color print. The image quality of the color print is produced by control of nonoperational co-optimization of fusing parameters and imaging subsystem parameters enabling printing on the variety of textures of receiver member.

  • Patent number: 5385572
Abstract: A trocar has an elongated shaft, and a cutting element is attached to a distal end of the shaft. The cutting element can be a transparent puncturing head formed integrally with the shaft, and a distal portion of the puncturing head is configured as a regular triangular pyramid having three sharpened cutting edges. Alternatively, the cutting element can be three or four metal cutting blades which are attached to the distal end of the shaft. In either case, a pathway for light communication is established from the cutting element through the shaft, a portion of which is transparent. The shaft has a cavity, and a rigid endoscope is positioned in the cavity to collect light from the distal end of the shaft. A video monitor is connected to the endoscope for displaying an image of the path of advancement of the trocar.

  • Patent number: 5269443
Abstract: A dosing system for precisely mixing two liquids in a predetermined volumetric relationship includes a flow meter having a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and two intermeshed counter-rotating gears positioned between the inlet and outlet. When a first fluid is directed from the inlet to the outlet, the first fluid causes the gears to turn, and the gears turn a predetermined amount for each unit of first fluid directed through the f low meter. The rotor of a peristaltic pump is coupled to one of the gears of the flow meter, such that for each increment of rotation of the gear, the rotor turns to pump a predetermined amount of a second fluid through the peristaltic pump. The outlets of the two pumps are in fluid communication, to permit mixing of the predetermined amounts of first and second fluid.
