  • Patent number: 7857031
Abstract: The guide assembly comprises corner brackets for mounting to the upper corners of a door jamb. Each corner bracket supports an elongated curvilinear track section and an elongated cam track. The curvilinear track section and the cam track each have a central concave portion. The guide assembly further comprises a support bracket which is pivotally mounted to an upper corner of the top panel of the sectional door. The pivoting support bracket has a cam follower which engages and follows the cam track, so that pivoting of the support bracket is responsive to the shaping of the cam track. The assembly is designed to steer the upper edge of the top panel away from the cable drum of a lifting assembly when passing thereby, all with the objective of reducing headroom.

  • Patent number: 6376014
Abstract: A spinning cone is positioned directly below a mixing head outlet to dispense and distribute a sticky mixture of polyurethane foam liquid chemical components. The mixing head and cone are reciprocated together across a longitudinally advancing metal strip to substantially uniformly distribute the mixture thereon. The procedure is practised in connection with the fabrication of overhead door insulated panels. In the prior art, plugging of dispensers would commonly occur within minutes, due to a build-up of adhering mixture on a surface followed by foaming. The spinning cone has dispensed satisfactorily for hours at a time.

  • Patent number: 6189266
Abstract: The mechanism comprises a bracket, to which are mounted a fixed roller shaft and a rotatable brake shaft. The roller shaft has a roller which runs in the door track. A cylindrical torsion spring is positioned on the brake shaft. One end of the spring is anchored to the brake shaft. The other end of the spring is connected to a tensioning ring, so that the tension of the spring can be adjusted. The tensioning ring is disengagably secured to the bracket. An arm protrudes from the brake shaft. The lift cable for the door extends through an eye carried by the arm. As long as the cable is taut, the brake shaft is prevented from turning. At its outer end, the brake shaft carries a cam member with braking teeth. The teeth are positioned to bite into the exterior surface of the track if the cable breaks and the spring rotates the brake shaft.

  • Patent number: 5533312
Abstract: A unitary, insulated panel is provided for use in sectional doors and walls. The panel comprises opposed, spaced apart, parallel, inner and outer metal skins. The skins are mechanically interlocked along their top and bottom ends by integral, inwardly projecting flanges having mutually engaged, hook-shaped terminal portions. The opposed flanges at each end are coplanar. The engaged hook-shaped terminal portions combine to form a longitudinally extending slot. The mouth of the slot is narrow relative to its bulbous inner portion. A strip of weather seal can be inserted longitudinally into the slot, for sealing purposes. Foamed polyurethane is formed in situ in the space between the skins. The polyurethane bonds to the skins. A rigid, strong panel unit is obtained by the combination of mechanically interlocking the skins and bonding them with the core.

  • Patent number: 4115900
Abstract: In a device of this type, the tubular member which receives the track roller shaft is attached to the door plate supporting ears by an arm which is bolted to the ears. Thus the tubular member can be rotated about the bolts to adjust its distance from the hinge plates. As a result, an adjustable unit is provided which is easy to install and set.
