  • Patent number: 5295021
Abstract: Rearview vehicle mirrors mountable on one or both sides of the vehicle to project laterally outward therefrom adjacent the windshield zone are provided with at least three independently adjustable flat faced mirrors movable in all planes to reflect to the driver's eyes rearward zones along the sides and rear of the vehicle which will simultaneously cooperate to provide the driver with a clear undistorted view of oncoming traffic all the way up to the driver's seat. Each mirror assembly has a compartment cup-shaped laterally elongated housing or casing with an open rearwardly facing mouth. Three flat faced mirrors fitting in side-by-side inboard, central and outboard relation in the housing substantially close the open mouth. Stiff ball and socket joints mount the mirrors in the housing to hold them in adjusted positions while permitting them to be manipulated in all planes either manually or electrically while maintaining the mouth of the housing substantially closed.

  • Patent number: 4896954
Abstract: Rear view mirrors for modern aerodynamic streamlined automobiles are mounted on the sides of the vehicle body as close to the front end as possible without interfering with components of the vehicle to extend above and laterally outward from the hood to reflect approaching vehicles on both sides of the automobile and provide clear vision to the driver as the vehicles approach and pass the rear end of the automobile. The positioning of the mirrors forwardly from the driver's eyes at the greatest distance permitted by the vehicle without forming an obstacle reduces the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection to a minimum thereby avoiding heretofore encountered blind spots in the driver's rear view vision. The mirror mounting can be streamlined into the front sides of the vehicle body in original equipment vehicles or can be provided as an accessory.

  • Patent number: 4671513
Abstract: The blade heads of golf club irons are provided with protuberances or knobs on the bottom sole faces thereof to minimize "fat" shots, reduce the size of divots, and to accommodate tilting of the club head on the turf laterally and in front to rear directions without spoiling the shot. The protuberance or knob on the sole is positioned rearwardly from the striking face of the head, extends lengthwise about 1/3 the length of the sole and merges upwardly to the rear face of the head. The front face of the knob is curved or arcuate in a top to bottom plane and also in a longitudinal plane. The rear face of the knob is curved upwardly to smoothly merge into and mate with the rear face of the head. The maximum depth of the knob is on the axis of the center of balance or "sweet spot" of the head.

  • Patent number: 4610419
Abstract: A picture hanger is provided with a hook that will wedge-lock a conventional picture hanging cord against movement to maintain the picture in its desired level position. The hook has an open top, open ends, and sidewalls defining an acute angle therebetween converging to a closed bottom that is narrower than the picture hanging cord so that the cord will be pulled by the weight of the picture into wedge-locked relation with the hook and cannot slide or tilt until the weight is lifted.

  • Patent number: 4498673
Abstract: A utility golf club wood is provided with a single fragmental spherical, preferably less than hemispherical, projection or bump on the central portion on the bottom or sole behind the sweet spot of the impact face to minimize the size of divots when the club head is swung through the turf while at the same time accommodating wide variations in the angle of the club swing and the inclination of the club head. The single projection presents the same circular contour to the turf regardless of wide variations in the angle of swing thereby accommodating the fade and draw shots and also accommodates front to rear rocking of the club head to accommodate variations in the pitch angle of the club face. The club is thus useful for many different shots both in the rough and on the fairway. The single round bump or projection adds mass behind the sweet spot of the club face without materially increasing the weight of the club head and at the same time reduces the turf drag to produce longer and more accurate drives.

  • Patent number: 4394065
Abstract: A mirror assembly mountable on conventional automobile vehicle windshield visors of the type swingable from an upright dependent use position between the driver and the windshield and an overhead storage position above the windshield has a frame clipped on the visor swingable to a depending position in front of the driver in both the use and storage positions of the visor with a mirror hinged on the frame to swing laterally of the visor to positions providing clear vision to the driver of the blind spot along the driver's side adjacent the rear end of the vehicle. In visor installations swinging forwardly to a storage position, a single fore and aft swinging hinged mirror unit is sufficient. In visor installations swinging rearwardly to a storage position, a pair of mirror units are provided to overlie both faces of the visor.

  • Patent number: 4345763
Abstract: A lofted iron golf club, such as a pitching wedge, has a substantially rectangular head or blade with substantially parallel top and bottom edges arranged so that the top edge is visible to the golfer to facilitate alignment of the club for the intended flight path of the ball even when the lower portion of the blade is buried in the grass. The toe and heel ends of the head or blade have substantially the same height to provide an enhanced size striking face. The head or blade has a hosel joined to the lower portion of the heel through a widened and curved land and the hosel is inclined forwardly from the blade face and laterally away from the heel end of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4314701
Abstract: A golf ball putter club has a generally rectangular blade head with a front putting face, a substantially flat rocker bottom, an upright back wall, and a central cylindrical portion having a diameter matching the diameter of a golf ball to be putted with narrow heel and toe portions projecting laterally from this central cylindrical portion. The top half of this cylindrical portion extends above the heel and toe portion and matches the top half of the golf ball to be easily aligned behind the ball and present a "sweet spot" on the putting face at the axis of the cylindrical portion. A shaft extends upwardly from the central cylindrical portion of the blade with its axis intersecting the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical portion for transmitting putting energy in alignment with the sweet spot.

  • Patent number: 4213609
Abstract: An attachment for the handles of rackets or paddles used for tennis, paddleball, and the like sports and games provides an abutment enabling the user to exert pressure and power to eliminate slippage and deliver more power to the ball or the like struck by the racket or paddle. The abutment is preferably part of the grip portion of the handle of a racket or paddle in the form of an outturned concave peripheral rib at the inner end of the grip to be engaged by portions of the hand of the user in a manner which does not confine or alter the user's grip but receives thrust from the user to deliver extra power and eliminate slippage. The rib is an extension of the faces of the grip and is preferably the base of a flat faced cone converging to the paddle or racket handle. The forefinger of the user's hand fits comfortably against the rib preventing the hand from slipping up on the handle and also exerting driving force from this forefinger to the racket or paddle.

  • Patent number: 4000903
Abstract: A golf glove construction has a raised ridge or bead extending across the palm portion to abut the grip portion of a golf club shaft and guide the upper hand of a golfer automatically into a proper golf grip position. When the golf club head is soled on the ground and the grip portion of the club shaft rests in the palm of a golfer wearing the glove and is abutted against the ridge or bead, the shaft will lie diagonally across the roots of the fingers, from the middle knuckle of the forefinger to a point just below the base of the little finger thereby insuring a proper grip on the club when the fingers are wrapped around the grip portion. The ridge or bead extends across the palm of the glove and may be formed by tucking a portion of the glove material around a cord which may be in the form of a bristle carrying wire providing longitudinal stiffness or the cord or wire insert may be sandwiched between the palm material of the glove and an overlying strip stitched or cemented to the palm material.
