  • Patent number: 6199498
Abstract: In a marine hydraulic steering assembly for a propulsion unit there is included a hydraulic steering cylinder operatively connected to the propulsion unit and is provided with first and second chambers. A hydraulic output system is actuated by a steering wheel at the helm of the marine vehicle and is operatively connected to the propulsion unit for effecting common movement of the hydraulic steering cylinder in response to actuation by the steering wheel. The hydraulic output system including a second hydraulic cylinder having first and second chambers, and a reservoir, and fluid communication extends between the first chamber and the reservoir and the second chamber and the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5107786
Abstract: A boat stabilizer for attachment to the lower drive unit of a boat motor. The stabilizer comprises a first lifting member having a first interior side wall for positioning adjacent to a first side of the drive unit and a first arm portion for extension around the drive unit, and a second lifting member having a second interior side wall for positioning adjacent to a second side of the drive unit and a second arm portion for extension around the drive unit toward the first arm portion. The second interior side wall is spaced from and opposes the first interior side wall forming a slot therebetween for receiving the drive unit. The first and second arm portions are removably attached together and selectively movable toward and away from each other for varying the width of the slot. The ability to vary the width of the slot for receiving the drive unit allows the stabilizer to be adjusted to fit virtually any conventional outboard or inboard/outboard boat motor.

  • Patent number: 4565345
Abstract: A mirror assembly is provided adapted for use with a vehicle and includes a mirror housing, a mirror, a support bracket for mounting the mirror housing on an associated vehicle and an expandable ball and socket arrangement associated with the mirror housing and support bracket for selectively retaining the mirror in a desired rotational position relative to the vehicle. The ball and socket arrangement comprises a partially spherical socket formed in the mirror housing, a thin-walled socket liner retained therein and an expandable ball securely connected to the mounting bracket. The expandable ball comprises a plurality of partially spherical segments each attached to a shank and resiliently deformable outwardly from an axial bore therethrough. A draw bolt is received in the axial bore and when drawn therethrough, engages the spherical segments biasing same outwardly to resistably engage the socket liner.

  • Patent number: 4436445
Abstract: A stud anchor is provided for securing to an associated mounting bracket a non-round hollow extension having planar inner wall surfaces which are parallel to a longitudinal axis of the extension. The stud anchor comprises an expandable anchor member having a shank portion and a head with the head comprising a plurality of resiliently deformable segments. The segments each include an outer surface which is biased into frictional contact with an associated inner wall surface of the extension securing the extension to the stud anchor.
