  • Patent number: 11380341
Abstract: In apparatus, methods, and programs for selecting pitch lag, an encoder obtains a first and a second estimates of a pitch lag for a current frame. A selected value is chosen by selection between the first and the second estimates, based on a first and a second correlation measurements. The second estimate is conditioned by the pitch lag selected at the previous frame. The selection is based on a comparison between: a downscaled version of a first correlation measurement associated to the current frame and obtained at a lag corresponding to the first estimate; and a second correlation measurement associated to the current frame and obtained at a lag corresponding to the second estimate.

  • Patent number: 11205434
Abstract: An audio encoder for providing an encoded audio information on the basis of an input audio information has a bandwidth extension information provider configured to provide bandwidth extension information using a variable temporal resolution and a detector configured to detect an onset of a fricative or affricate. The audio encoder is configured to adjust a temporal resolution used by the bandwidth extension information provider such that bandwidth extension information is provided with an increased temporal resolution at least for a predetermined period of time before a time at which an onset of a fricative or affricate is detected and for a predetermined period of time following the time at which the onset of the fricative or affricate is detected. Alternatively or in addition, the bandwidth extension information is provided with an increased temporal resolution in response to a detection of an offset of a fricative or affricate. Audio encoders and methods use a corresponding concept.

  • Patent number: 8914296
Abstract: An audio decoder includes an arithmetic decoder for providing decoded spectral values on the basis of an arithmetically encoded representation thereof, and a frequency-domain-to-time-domain converter for providing a time-domain audio representation. The arithmetic decoder selects a mapping rule describing a mapping of a code value onto a symbol code representing a spectral value, or a most significant bit-plane thereof, in a decoded form, in dependence on a context state described by a numeric current context value. The arithmetic decoder determines the numeric current context value in dependence on a plurality of previously decoded spectral values. It evaluates a hash table, entries of which define both significant state values amongst the numeric context values and boundaries of intervals of numeric context values, in order to select the mapping rule, wherein the hash table ari_hash_m is defined as given in FIGS. 22(1), 22(2), 22(3) and 22(4).

  • Publication number: 20010023184
Abstract: In receiving devices for mobile communication comprising at least one controller, an improvement of the power saving is proposed for the evaluation of paging messages divided over a plurality of paging message sub-blocks and for setting the receiving device to a power-saving mode when the paging message does not contain a predefined subscriber identity number, in that the controller compares a received paging message sub-block with a stored sample and suppresses the reception of further paging message sub-blocks of the same paging message block when the received paging message sub-block matches.
