  • Publication number: 20040091359
Abstract: A blade or wing configuration has a leading edge and a trailing edge, and an upper surface and a lower surface extending from the leading edge to the trailing edge. At least one of the upper surface and the lower surface is formed with a curved segment and a straight segment. The curved segment starts from a starting point on the upper surface or the lower surface between the leading edge and the trailing edge and ends at the leading edge. The straight segment extends from the starting point to the trailing edge. A tangent at the leading edge is substantially parallel to the direction of movement and the straight segment forms an angle &thgr; of approximately 30°-60° with respect to the direction of movement. The trailing edge can be formed with teeth.

  • Patent number: 6725644
Abstract: The engine has an input system formed with a fluid displacement pump that enables substantially continuous pumping from a low-pressure side to a high-pressure side substantially without any backflow or backpressure pulsations. The output system, in one embodiment, is an output system having a turbine rotation about an axis that is substantially orthogonal to the pressure flow originating from the prime mover. The output system may include a first turbine which provides for the mechanical work output of the engine and a second turbine which feeds back to drive the input system. Any increase in the load to be driven by the first turbine translates into a proportional increase in the drive energy fed back to the input system. In an alternative embodiment, a differential may be used to distribute the output power to a load or back to the input compressor.

  • Publication number: 20040022635
Abstract: A novel concept for a propeller blade configuration incorporates the model of the natural wave behavior. The leading edge of the propeller blade has a convex segment followed by a concave segment, as seen in a plan view. The leading and trailing edges are rounded so as to promote proper fluid sheet formation along the flat surfaces and to reduce undesirable vortice formation. Best results are obtained by modeling the surfaces along a sine or tangent function.

  • Publication number: 20040007148
Abstract: A novel concept for a projectile primarily suited for supersonic flight, such as a bullet, a shell, or a rocket. The configuration incorporates the model of the natural wave behavior. The leading edge of the projectile has a sharp tip which merges smoothly into a cylindrical body. The merging segment from the tip to the cylinder may be defined with a tangent function. The rounding of the surfaces promote proper fluid sheet formation along the surface and to reduce undesirable vortice formation and thus to reduce the value of several drag factors.

  • Publication number: 20040007149
Abstract: A novel concept for a hydrodynamically and aerodynamically improved leading edge and trailing edge structure is primarily suited for high-speed motion, such as near Mach 1 and above, but also for slow-speed motion and for stationary operation, where stationary structures are subjected to fluid flow. The configuration incorporates the model of the natural wave behavior. The leading edge of the aircraft, of the train, of the submarine, or the like, has a sharp tip which merges smoothly into a cylindrical or rectangular body. The merging segment from the tip to the cylinder may be defined with a tangent function. The rounding of the surfaces promote proper fluid sheet formation along the surface and to reduce undesirable vortice formation and thus to reduce the value of several drag factors.

  • Patent number: 6632145
Abstract: The fluid displacement pump enables substantially continuous pumping from a low-pressure side to a high-pressure side substantially without any backflow or backpressure pulsations. Liquid or gas is injected to the high-pressure side by way of mutually intertwined worm spindles that form a fluidtight displacement system. The blades of the impeller system are slightly curved from the inside out, i.e., from their axles to their periphery, so as to ensure a tight seal between adjacent blades. The orientation of the blades is almost flat, i.e., their attack angle relative to backpressure is close to perpendicular so that they will turn quite freely in the forward direction, but will not be turned backwards by a pressurized backflow. The impeller rotation that is introduced via the spindle shafts nevertheless leads to a volume displacement towards the high-pressure side, for instance, towards a chamber to be pressurized or to be subjected to equal pressure.

  • Patent number: 6550443
Abstract: A rotary internal combustion engine has a cylindrical rotor which rotates in a cylindrical rotor chamber of a stator. A cylindrical peripheral surface of the rotor rotates equidistantly from the housing wall of the rotor housing. A plurality of vanes project radially from the peripheral surface of the rotor and they sealing against the inner wall surface of the rotor housing. Several turning or reciprocating valves are equi-angularly distributed about a periphery of the housing chamber. The valves seal against the rotor periphery and they open up for the vanes to pass by.

  • Patent number: 6443333
Abstract: The caulking cartridge alleviates the afterflow prolem and assures that substantially all of the caulking composition can be driven from the cartridge. The cartridge has a tubular body, a forward dispensing opening at a forward end of the tubular body, and a backwall movably disposed within the tubular body. The backwall has a shape that is complementary to a shape of the forward end of the tubular body. This ensures that the composition is completely purged from the tubular body when the backwall is pushed against the forward end. The backwall may be formed to slide contactlessly within the tubular body, preferably by way of a reduced diameter of the backwall relative the inner diameter of the tubular body, so that it is pushed backwardly when the body retracts radially after actuation.
