  • Publication number: 20230278758
Abstract: A closure with a removable and interchangeable fitment that is used for dispensing particulate matter from a container. The closure has a base, and the fitment is coupled to the base. The closure has an interior sidewall, and the fitment has an exterior sidewall that extends from a dispensing face. The dispensing face defines a plurality of dispensing apertures that are configured to dispense particulate matter. In specific embodiments, the interior sidewall is annular and the exterior sidewall is circumferential. The interior sidewall defines interior mating geometry and the exterior sidewall defines exterior mating geometry. The interior mating geometry releasably mates with the exterior mating geometry. In specific embodiments the interior mating geometry defines a lip and the exterior mating geometry defines a corresponding groove that the lip engages. In specific embodiments, the engagement is a snap fit engagement. In specific embodiments, the groove and the lip are annular.

  • Publication number: 20210237959
Abstract: A method of fabricating a container is provided. The container includes multiple sidewalls extending in a substantially vertical direction and a bottom wall. The bottom wall includes a central portion, a first curved portion and a second curved portion. The first curved portion includes a first radius of curvature with a first center of curvature located on a first side of the bottom wall of the container, while the second curved portion terminates at the sidewalls and include a second radius of curvature with a second center of curvature located on a second side of the bottom wall of the container. The container further includes multiple reinforcing ribs located on the second side, each of the reinforcing ribs having a minimum height proximate the first curved portion and a maximum height proximate the second curved portion.

  • Patent number: 11053054
Abstract: A spout fitment and cap assembly for a dispensing container is provided. The spout fitment and cap assembly includes a fitment and a cap. The fitment includes a generally tubular shape surrounding a central axial passage and multiple horizontal sealing ribs configured to secure the fitment to the dispensing container. The cap includes a generally tubular shape with an annular wall extending circumferentially about an exterior surface of the tubular shape, a central plug portion, and multiple flow openings surrounding the central plug portion. The cap is slidably coupled to the fitment and is configured to be actuated between a first position and a second position through an application of force to the annular wall.

  • Patent number: 8308010
Abstract: A molded plastic container/closure combination providing a tamper evident feature, a child resistant feature and a removal facilitation feature. The closure has radially extending bayonets extending from the outer skirt which fit into horizontal slots in a beam molded integrally with the sidewall of the container. Rotation of the closure in one direction brings the bayonets into the slots for locking purposes. Rotation in the opposite direction unlocks the closure and continued rotation lifts the closure relative to the container to facilitate removal. A resiliently mounted release tab must be depressed before unlocking rotation is permitted. A latch prevents depression of the release tab until anchors on the sides of the latch are fractured. Serrations acting between the tab and the bayonets provide an audible indication of rotation.

  • Patent number: 7946441
Abstract: A molded plastic container assembly comprising an open top container and a closure which sealingly fits on the top of the container. A collar is integral with the container sidewall just below the top rim to provide a space into which the lower edge of the closure skirt extends to prevent removal closure until a tear strip formed in the collar is removed. The tear strip in the collar extends fully through one corner of the container assembly and at least half way toward both of the adjacent corners to provide substantial area of access to the closure lower edge as well make the tear strip to large to present a choking hazard to small children.
