  • Patent number: 5331797
Abstract: A spinning ring of a ring spinning machine has an inclined flange which is configured such that a travel surface at the inner surface of the spinning ring has a radius (R2) which amounts to about 25 mm. and which merges into a radius (R1) which, at the location of the smallest inner diameter of the spinning ring, amounts to at least 1 mm. A rim or bead at the travel portion of the spinning ring has a height (H) which at most is about one-half larger than the thickness (K) of the rim. Consequently, there can be used travellers having small outer dimensions, so that there can be selected a larger wire thickness of the traveller material. In this way, the service life of the traveller in the ring spinning machine is increased in relation to the prior art.

  • Patent number: 4968525
Abstract: There are formed at the wall of the friction spinning element bores or holes with a predeterminate bore diameter and a coating on their side facing a fiber feed duct, the coating extending over the bore edges into the bores or holes. Each bore or hole thus formed has a diameter at the bore or hole entrance or inlet which is smaller than the bore diameter of the related bore or hole. Each bore or hole has a cross-sectional area of less than 0.283 mm.sup.2, but amounting to at least 0.07 mm.sup.2. In this way, the undesirable penetration of fibers or fiber parts into the bores or holes is prevented as far as possible when air flows through the bores or holes at the side of the coating, while retaining a hole form or configuration which is favorable from the standpoint of airflow and blockage of the bores or holes.

  • Patent number: 4696155
Abstract: A friction spinning device has a pneumatic fiber transport passage or channel inclined at an angle to a perforated friction spinning element and a yarn formation position of the perforated friction spinning element is located at a spacing from an opening of the pneumatic fiber transport passage or channel. In such a friction spinning device, it is desired to ensure that the fibers located on the perforated friction spinning element are transported towards the yarn formation position neither parallel to nor at right angles to the yarn formation position. For this purpose, the perforations of the perforated friction spinning elements are so arranged that straight lines joining the perforation centers are disposed neither parallel to nor at right angles to the yarn formation position. In this way, fibers transported onto the perforated friction spinning element are laid on such perforated friction spinning element in the direction of the rows of perforations due to the intensity of the transporting air.

  • Patent number: 4649699
Abstract: In a friction spinning device comprising a fiber opening assembly, a fiber feed passage arrangement, and friction spinning drums cooperating with the fiber feed passage arrangement, the fiber feed passage arrangement is divided in its longitudal direction into two passage or channel halves. At the separation or parting joints or gaps formed by connection flanges associated with the passage halves, there can be provided recesses so that a respective connecting slot is formed between the cross-section of the fiber feed passage arrangement and the separation or parting joints. In this way, there can be substantially avoided contact of fibers with the separation or parting joints.

  • Patent number: 4640089
Abstract: Fibers delivered in a freely floating state in a fiber transport passage are to be laid in a predetermined disposition on a friction spinning element, such as a friction spinning drum or disc. For this purpose, an opening region of the fiber transport passage is provided with a converging portion in which the airstream is supplementarily accelerated relative to a preceding acceleration. This supplementary acceleration serves to assist in bringing the fibers into the predetermined disposition on the friction spinning drum. The friction spinning device comprises an opening roller which is rotatably supported in a housing. The housing is connected to the fiber transport passage. The opening of the fiber transport passage extends close to a cylindrical surface of the friction spinning drum. The fibers leaving the opening are transported on the friction spinning drum towards a yarn formation position where they are twisted into a yarn which is withdrawn in a selectable withdrawal direction by withdrawal rollers.

  • Patent number: 4615169
Abstract: The apparatus is associated with a spinning or twisting machine and removes individual textile bobbin tubes from a reservoir, such as a container which contains such bobbin tubes. The container has in its lower portion a funnel-shaped structure through which the bobbin tubes move downwardly towards an opening. As is known, there is the danger that the bobbin tubes undesirably form "bridges" and thereby the further delivery of such bobbin tubes is interrupted. Such bridge formation is avoided by providing a break-up rod or bar which is arranged substantially horizontally and parallel to the broad sides of the container, in the interior and in the region above an opening of the container. The break-up rod or bar is supported in the longitudinal sides of the container with play on all sides and in a freely rotatable manner. The thickness of the break-up rod or bar and the thickness of the bobbin tubes are of the same order of magnitude.

  • Patent number: 4524579
Abstract: A device for mounting or donning of bobbins onto a transport band of a textile machine, especially a ring spinning or ring twisting machine contemplates that incorrectly mounted bobbins are ejected or doffed by a bar member pivotable about a pivot axis or shaft. To eject or doff such incorrectly mounted bobbins the bar member is moved, at a monitoring or control position, in a downward direction towards the head of the bobbin currently there located and ejects incompletely mounted bobbins. The donning device exhibits simplicity and a reliable mode of operation. Furthermore, by means of the invention damage produced by incorrectly mounted bobbins is avoided and damaged bobbins are removed from the operating process.

  • Patent number: 4480740
Abstract: The present invention concerns an apparatus for sorting conical bobbin tubes, using trough-shaped transporting pockets, into which the bobbin tubes are placed individually, and in which they are shifted at a bias to their longitudinal direction. According to the invention the bobbin tubes pass under two rolls, which with respect to the direction of this movement are arranged inclined at an angle in the same sense, and which are mounted on a frame which is pivotable about an axis. One, and only this one of the rolls, namely the one, under which the bobbin tube zone of greater diameter passes, contacts the bobbin tube, and owing to its inclined arrangement effects a shifting movement of the bobbin tube in its longitudinal direction. In this manner the bobbin tubes are shifted into different positions depending on the position of their bobbin tube foot ends relative to their tip ends, and in this manner are sorted.

  • Patent number: 4410340
Abstract: An apparatus for separating fibre material from an air stream or current of a penumatic transporting system contains a filter or perforated drum internally of which there prevails a vacuum. The fibre material drops from the drum at a take-off zone or region, in the form of a fibre layer or mat, into a receiving container or the like. This fibre layer is then removed from the receiving container, by using a plunger, and deposited, in an outfeed or delivery duct or channel. The spacing of the fibre take-off zone at the drum from the bottom or floor of the container is limited to a value which avoids tearing of the fibre layer or mat. Jamming or clogging of fibre material when using a rotating filter or perforated drum is avoided, since the take-off of the dropping or outbound fibre layer from the filter or perforated drum is perfected cleanly throughout. There results the advantage that danger of fires and damage, caused by fibre jamming, are essentially precluded.

  • Patent number: 4338775
Abstract: Operatively connected with a spinning ring of a ring spinning or ring twisting machine is a tubular inner ring at a small distance, the upper limit or boundary of such inner ring being located at a higher position than the traveller guide surface defined on the spinning ring, in such a manner that unthreading of the thread, which no longer is tensioned by the traveller is rendered impossible. Also the inner ring and/or the spinning ring are provided with at least one slot-opening by means of which traveller debris can escape. Furthermore the distance of the outer upper edge of the inner ring from the traveller guide surface is to be chosen sufficiently large, so that upon restarting of the winding process the traveller does not collide with the inner ring.
