    Abstract: A method and an apparatus are provided, the apparatus includes a correlator configured to correlate samples of a frame format signal with a reference signal; an adder block configured to sum the correlation results over a given time period; a comparator configured to compare the sum with a given reference value; a controller configured, if the sum exceeds the reference value, to make the decision that a frequency correction channel has been detected, store the position of the frequency correction channel in the frame format signal and cease the correlation process; and otherwise configured to control the correlation and comparison to continue until the time reserved for the correlation process ends, to retain the value in the adder block; and to control the apparatus to resume the above process when a new time reserved for the correlation process is due.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a dental unit and a method for feeding water to instruments and/or to other water outlet points of a dental unit. The object of the invention is to enable keeping pressure of the water lines of a dental unit essentially stable, especially also when the relatively stable pressure typical for public water systems cannot be taken advantage of because of potential backflow of water contaminated at the point of use to the public water system. According to the invention there is arranged a pressure chamber (12) to the feed water line (10) of a dental unit, the said pressure chamber (12) being arranged in functional connection with pressure control means (14, 15), and upstream of the said pressure chamber (12) a pump (13), which is arranged to be able to pump water to the said pressure chamber (12) also when it is pressurized.

    Abstract: The invention relates to methods and arrangements for disinfection of water lines of a dental unit, wherein the water lines are filled with a strong chemical, which is allowed to act in the lines for a desired length of time. Firstly, the invention improves the safety of use of such chemicals by realizing the arrangements of the dental unit so as to limit the chances of the user inadvertently admitting the chemical to where it should not be admitted, e.g. into the patient's mouth or into a public water distribution system. Secondly, said arrangement is so implemented as to allow more effective disinfection of the main valve of the water system of the dental unit, the disinfection chemical being supplied via a point upstream of the main valve. The arrangement is so implemented that supply of chemical can not be started before an on-off valve or equivalent placed upstream of the feed point has been closed, and this valve can not be opened before the chemical has been removed from the water lines.

    Abstract: The objects of the invention are a method for establishing outgoing connections, and a terminal equipment and a data transmission system using the method. The invention is advantageously appicable to wireless local loop (WLL) systems. According to the invention, upon selection of a connection code consisting of a sequence of digits, the dialled digits are monitored (103) and it is checked (105, 107) whether the sequence of digits consisting of the dialled digits is identical with any one of the connection coded dialled last. If the sequence of digits is identical with any one of the connection codes dialled last, and especially, if an outgoing connection has already previously been established using this sequence, it is known that the connection code contains no more digits, and thus the sequence of digits is transmitted (109) to the base station for establishment of the connection.
