  • Publication number: 20180242096
Abstract: Embodiments of these teachings concern integrating a sound object such as an audio object recorded by, e.g., a lavalier microphone to a spatial audio signal. First the sound object is obtained and then a direction and an active duration of the sound object is determined. The spatial audio signal is compiled from audio signals of multiple microphones and could be pre-recorded and obtained after the fact. Then, using the determined direction, the sound object is integrated with the spatial audio signal over the active duration. If there are further moving sound sources to integrate the same procedure is followed for them all individually. One technique specifically shown herein to find the optimized direction and starting time is steered response power with phase transform weighting.

  • Patent number: 10056876
Abstract: An apparatus including a first audio filter; a first transducer connected to the first audio filter; and a first sound attenuator located relative to the first transducer to attenuate sound from the first transducer. The first audio filter includes a first transition frequency band. The first sound attenuator is configured to attenuate sound generated by the first transducer from audio signals through the first audio filter in a target frequency band, where a majority of the target frequency band is in the first transition frequency band.

  • Patent number: 10051401
Abstract: An apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory, the memory comprising machine-readable instructions, that when executed cause the apparatus to: store in a non-volatile memory multiple sets of predetermined spatial audio processing parameters for differently moving sound sources; provide in a man machine interface an option for a user to select one of the stored multiple sets of predetermined spatial audio processing parameters for differently moving sound sources; and in response to the user selecting one of the stored multiple sets of predetermined spatial audio processing parameters for differently moving sound sources, the apparatus is further caused to use the selected one of the stored multiple sets of predetermined spatial audio processing parameters to spatially process audio from one or more sound sources.

  • Patent number: 10051403
Abstract: A method comprising: displaying a spatio-temporal graph that visually indicates the positions of a sound object at each time in a range of times and, in addition, simultaneously indicates a state of the sound object over the range of times; enabling user adaptation of the spatio-temporal graph to change a position of the sound object during at least a portion of the range of times and/or a state of the sound object over at least a portion of the range of times; and enabling rendering of spatial audio output using the position and state of the sound object indicated by the adapted spatio-temporal graph.

  • Patent number: 10014841
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to adjust audio file playback in terms of volume and/or compression. By example, a method separates an audio file into tracks, each attributable to a different instrument. The method also determines the instrument for which the audio signals are dominant or loudest and accesses settings for the volume preference of the audio signals attributable to each different instrument. The method modifies the setting for the volume preference of the audio signals attributable to the instrument that is dominant or loudest based on user input altering a volume at which the audio file is output without modification of the setting for the volume preference of the audio signals attributable to another instrument. The method also amplifies or attenuates audio signals based upon the modified setting.

  • Publication number: 20180173400
Abstract: An apparatus is configured to cause a display to present a graphical user interface having two or more regions that correspond to respective media content characteristics and to receive indication from an input arrangement of received input manipulating an attribute of at least one region of the two or more of the regions and determining a dominance of at least one of said respective characteristics based, at least in part, on said attribute. The apparatus is configured to output information identifying media content in which said at least one characteristic has a dominance within a respective range of dominance values, said range being based, at least in part, on the determined dominance. The dominance values may include an overall value for the media content and/or varying dominance values based on temporal segments of the media content.
