  • Publication number: 20060293077
Abstract: A terminal, system, method, and computer program product are provided that are capable of allocating memory for content storage in the terminal. Content may be stored as either fixed or replaceable content. Storing some content as replaceable content enables a service provider to take advantage of favorable network connections to download content that is not to be viewed by the user until a later date, while not preventing the user from being able to store other content if desired. While replaceable content may be stored in the storage element in the terminal, the replaceable content typically does not reserve memory space. As such, other content items may overwrite the replaceable content if necessary due to insufficient open memory space to store the other content items. If replaceable content has been overwritten by other content, the replaceable content will typically be downloaded again when memory space becomes available.

  • Publication number: 20060277582
Abstract: A system for providing broadcast content includes at least one content source for broadcasting content, and at least one terminal. The terminal can receive and consume content for a selected channel x, which is one in a set of ordered channels of broadcast content. The terminal can also change channels from the selected channel x to an adjacent channel x±1 in the set of n ordered channels. In response to changing channels to the adjacent channel x±1, the terminal can receive and consume content for the adjacent channel x±1. The terminal can receive and store content for Y next adjacent channels (x±1)±y, y=1, . . . , Y in buffer memory. Content for the next adjacent channels is stored based upon the direction the channel is changed and in response to changing channels.

  • Publication number: 20060277577
Abstract: A mobile terminal for performing operations with respect to broadcast content includes a controller capable of operating a client application. The client application can perform operations including operating in a recording mode. In the recording mode, the client application can record content for a selected channel, and store the recorded channel in a database. In response to changing channels from the selected channel to another channel, the client application can initiate a recording timeout for the selected channel. The client application can reset the recording timeout for the selected channel for each subsequent instance of changing channels back to the selected channel. If the recording timeout expires before being reset for a subsequent instance of changing channels back to the selected channel, however, the client application can cease recording content for the selected channel.

  • Publication number: 20060095866
Abstract: The present invention relates to an image having distinct image areas as part of the image, at least one of the distinct image areas configured to match determined device menu functions for functioning as a functional part of device menu. The present invention also relates to a method for defining a device menu for a device. The method comprises defining distinct image areas in an image and defining at least one the distinct image areas to match determined device menu functions for functioning as a functional part of the device menu. Furthermore, a device menu comprising such an image and a device comprising such a device menu are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6920486
Abstract: A method and apparatus by which a user of two or more client devices (10 11) each hosting a data store (10c 11c) can have the data stores kept synchronized by a server (12) (in some cases operated as a synchronizing service) in a way acceptable to the user even though at least one of the two data stores (10c) includes a data component (such as a field of a record) that is not in the other data store (11c) (or for which a correspondence from the one data store (10c) to the other data store (11c) in respect to the data component has not yet been set, including possibly a null correspondence). Any such so-called problem field is monitored by a sync field scanner (12g) usually hosted by the server, which alerts the user that a data component is a problem field only when the user first provides a value for the data component.

  • Publication number: 20050001904
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, a system, a camera device, as well as application software in a digital imaging environment, in which the camera device is used in an imaging session to record image material which comprises still or video image and which image material is further stored as one or more image files. According to the invention, for imaging in said imaging session, the camera device is provided with an imaging profile which comprises one or more parameters relating to said imaging session, wherein data included in said one or more parameters is attached or linked to said one or more image files to identify them as being recorded in said imaging session. The invention facilitates the identification of images recoded in different situations and makes it possible to subject the image files to automatic operations.
