A first signaling message transmitted from a caller terminal to initiate a multimedia session establishment is processed to detect, in the first signaling message, information indicating that the multimedia content should be presented in synchronization with a second signaling message necessary to session establishment. The multimedia content is downloaded and presented in accordance with the information indicating that the multimedia content should be presented in synchronization with said second signaling message necessary to session establishment. The second signaling message necessary to session establishment is delayed until after the step of downloading and presenting the multimedia content in accordance with the information indicating that the multimedia content should be presented in synchronization with the second signaling message is completed.
