  • Patent number: 6364236
Abstract: A coupling between the rotor (16) of a belt tensioner rotary drive and a drive shaft (22) comprises an externally toothed coupling wheel (24) connected to the drive shaft (22) and at least one coupling pawl (32) arranged on the rotor (16). The coupling pawl (32) is movable between a resting position in which it is spaced away from the periphery of the coupling wheel and an engaging position in which it engages the coupling wheel. The coupling pawl (32) is toggle-mounted on a knife-edge bearing on the rotor (16).

  • Patent number: 5671935
Abstract: An air bag is described which can be made of a single blank (50) of textile material or plastic sheet. The blank can be composed of several parts, but is preferably in one piece. Parts of the blank can be folded along fold pleats (52a,-i) in mutually parallel planes closely adjacent to each other. The folding pleats pass completely across the blank. Two sections (54) of the blank have mirror-image shapes along one folding pleat. After folding in superimposed planes, the edges which are to be joined lie over one another, and can therefore be easily sewn up. If the inner folding pleats (52i) and outer folding pleats (52a) alternate in the blank, the blank can be folded into a shape in the manner of a closed umbrella, the inner fold pleats (52i) corresponding to the ribs of the umbrella, and the sections (54) connected by the outer fold pleats (52a) projecting outwards.

  • Patent number: 5203034
Abstract: A locking or adjustment device is placed on the of the shell of a helmet for the purpose of attaching, securing, detaching or adjusting the effective length of a chin strap or cheek strap. The locking device may be part of a multi-part or flip-up helmet shell. A manual control device is located on the helmet shell and is accessible from the outside of the shell such that manual pressure on the control surface of the control device from outside the shell disengages a connection with the chin strap. The control device is integrated with the helmet shell in the area of the neck ring, preferably on the side of the neck ring. In a neutral position of the control device, the control surface thereof is continuous with an exterior surface of the helmet shell.

  • Patent number: 5091997
Abstract: A helmet shell defines a face opening, and a visor covering the face opening is pivotally mounted on sides of the helmet shell for movement between a closed position and an open position. Locking elements on at least one side of the helmet shell maintain the visor in at least the closed position. A locking element which defines at least one recess is pivotable with the visor around a pivot point. A spring element is provided with upper and lower spring leaves. The upper spring leaf defines a locking cam which is engageable with the recess when the visor is in the closed position. The spring element releasably biases the locking cam, against a side wall of the recess whereby the visor is releasably maintained in the closed position.
