  • Publication number: 20230191764
Abstract: An at least three-layer biaxially oriented polyester film is provided that includes a layer B, a rough outer layer A and a smooth outer layer C, with the outer layers A and C each being external layers arranged on the opposite surfaces of the base layer B. The outer layer A includes polymethylsilsesquioxane-based particles, the outer layer C includes less than 0.1% by weight of particles different from the polymethylsilsesquioxane-based particles. The polyester film contains no 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic-acid-derived units as repeat unit, and the film includes less than 0.1% by weight of particles. The polyesters in the outer layers comprise isophthalic acid-derived repeat units in an amount of <19% by weight. The invention further relates to a process for to produce the film and to its use as process film for the transfer of surface properties, especially for furniture surfaces.

  • Patent number: 11034127
Abstract: The invention relates to an at least three-layer biaxially oriented polyester film including at least one base layer B, one rough outer layer A and one smooth outer layer C, where the layers A and C are external layers arranged on opposing surfaces of the base layer B. The outer layer A includes calcium carbonate particles. The outer layer C includes less than 0.1% by weight of particles (where the percentage by weight data are based on the weight of the layer). The polyester used to produce all of the layers includes no 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic-acid-derived units as repeating units. The entire film includes less than 0.3% by weight (based on the weight of the entire film) of particles. The invention further relates to processes for producing the film, and also to use of the latter as process film for the provision of surface properties, in particular for furniture surfaces.

  • Patent number: 10940667
Abstract: The present invention relates to an at least two-layer biaxially oriented polyester film with at least one matt surface and with an increased coefficient of friction of this surface, with a total thickness from 8 to 75 ?m. The film of the invention has excellent suitability as an external ply of animal-feed bags with matt appearance which on stacking are not subject to slippage between the same.

  • Patent number: 5139712
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of microfiltration membranes from aromatic polyamides, of which the pore sizes are between 0.05 and 10 .mu.m. A copolymer of isophthalic acid and m-phenylenediamine is dissolved in a solvent mixture of dimethylacetamide and dimethylformamide in the presence of alkali or alkaline earth chlorides and polyethyleneglycol. This solution is produced without the addition of water and is subsequently poured out onto a smooth surface formed of chemically inert material with the formation of the membranes. The water that is required as the precipitation agent, is only added to the poured-out solution by means of the air humidity. The relative air humidity is increased from 30% to 100% during formation of the membranes.
