  • Patent number: 5775954
Abstract: An electrical plug-in connector includes an encompassing enclosure having side walls defining an interior and having guides in the interior. Modular multipole contact enclosures for insertion in the interior, each have one-piece contact chambers being disposed next to each other in a row and being connected with each other and having integrated locking devices. Contact elements are to be inserted and locked in the contact chambers for connecting and combining one of the contact enclosures with at least one other of the contact enclosures to form a subassembly for insertion in the encompassing enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5722843
Abstract: A plug connector housing assembly includes an outer housing and an inner housing to be nested together in a plug-in direction. The housings include sides having approximately parallel opposed side walls with inner and outer surfaces. The side walls of the outer housing define an insertion opening with a peripheral region. A locking mechanism in the form of a rack extends in the plug-in direction on one of the side walls. A lever is associated with another of the side walls. A shaft is perpendicular to the plug-in direction and associated with the lever. A gear wheel segment meshes with the rack, is firmly connected to the lever on the other of the side walls and is rotatably supported on the other of the side walls about the shaft. The rack and the gear wheel segment are disposed at least at one of the sides, between the inner wall surface of the outer housing and the opposite outer wall surface of the inner housing.

  • Patent number: 5720626
Abstract: A contact spring has a bottom spring having a spring arm base with a bottom wall and two side walls, a terminal part for an electrical conductor projecting integrally from a first end of the spring arm base, and spring arms projecting from a second end of the spring arm base in an extension of the side walls. A detent device is provided for primary locking of the contact spring inside a housing. The terminal part has a bottom wall and two side walls extending away from the bottom wall. Each of the side walls of the terminal part has an end face which is embodied as an insulation piercing connecting device. The spring arm base and/or the terminal part define a stop edge extending orthogonally to an insertion direction of the contact spring.

  • Patent number: 5716246
Abstract: A contact device for electric plug connections includes a stamped and bent part having an intermediate region with a U-shaped cross section, two side walls and a base wall joining the side walls. A line connection element is disposed at one end of the contact device. A contact prong defines a contact side and has a base protruding from the intermediate region at another end of the contact device. The contact prong is thicker than remaining regions of the contact device. The base wall and/or side walls of the U-shaped intermediate region have connecting elements, such as extensions and/or attachments on the contact side being form-lockingly joined to the contact prong by form stamping and/or bending in the vicinity of the base of the contact prong.

  • Patent number: 5558547
Abstract: A contact spring assembly includes a contact spring having a connection part for an electrical conductor and a contact part with a spring leg base and spring legs originating therefrom for contacting a plug contact. A detent sleeve is retained at the spring leg base, produced from sheet metal as a stamped and bent part, surrounds the contact part like a box and constructed as an overspring. The detent sleeve has a bottom wall, two side walls each having an overspring arm being cut out of the side wall, bent inward and resting on a respective one of the spring legs, a top wall being divided by a longitudinal slit, and a detent spring arm being cut out of one of the walls, extending in the longitudinal direction of the detent sleeve and being bent outward. The overspring arms are formed solely by dividing cuts extending substantially crosswise to a longitudinal direction of the detent sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5496186
Abstract: An electric plug connector includes first, second and third housing parts. One of the housing parts is a plug receptacle for receiving a contact element and forming a plug channel. Another of the housing parts is a plug for receiving a complementary contact element and having outer contours adapted to the plug channel. A further of the housing parts is an actuation element in the form of a longitudinally movably guided slide for moving the plug into and out of the plug receptacle. Three sets of teeth are each disposed on a respective one of the housing parts and have a predetermined gear ratio. Two of the sets of teeth are racks each being firmly connected to a respective one of the first and second housing parts. One of the sets of teeth is a gear wheel being rotatably supported on the third housing part for meshing with the two racks.

  • Patent number: 5252095
Abstract: The electrical connector has contact elements in adjacent contact chambers in an insulating housing (1), each element having a crimping zone for the connection of stranded conductors. In addition, there is provided in the housing in each case one slot (16) for holding a locking strip (31) which interacts with in each case one locking edge (22) of each contact element. In order to avoid the spread strand ends from straying into adjacent contact chambers when the locking strip (31) is inserted at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the contact elements and hence causing a short-circuit, each crimping zone is located on a side of the wall of the partially-tubular contact element (2,102) which is opposite the locking edge.

  • Patent number: 4534611
Abstract: A contact spring assembly is constructed of a planar base plate integrally formed with a pair of opposed spring legs upstanding therefrom and a separate pin-like connection part attached to the undersurface of the base plate and extending downwardly therefrom in a direction opposite from the upstanding course of the spring legs. Opposed axial ends of the base plate are formed with planar flange surfaces which extend outwardly from the adjacent ends of the spring legs. A two piece strip housing is formed with upper and lower parts which assemble together to receive the contact spring assembly suitably therein with the flange surfaces of the base plate locked against upward or downward longitudinal movement by virtue of sidewall recesses.
