  • Publication number: 20160322776
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a CO2-N2-He gas dynamic laser. The operation of a gas dynamic laser involves heating the gas, rapidly cooling that gas in a supersonic nozzle, flowing the gas through an optical cavity wherein stimulated emission (lasing) takes place, and exhausting the gas. Isentropic equations are used to find flow properties throughout the nozzle and diffuser from the properties at their inlets in order to produce a Shock-Free minimum length nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20150306324
Abstract: The disclosed Current Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines consist of a three piece system; mask, blower housing, and a house. The present invention discloses a self-contained CPAP mask that is configured to be fitted to a wearer's face and is comprised in an embodiment of a mask base component, a blower component, a silencing component, a blower cover component, a humidification component, and a control system component. This invention improves upon current CPAP devices by eliminating the hose and blower housing, allowing for increased mobility and portability.

  • Publication number: 20140091945
Abstract: A system and method directed to attachment free monitoring of a subject's respiration, heartbeat, and motion. In one embodiment, the monitoring system is comprised of a monitoring pad, a base station, and a monitoring display device such as a smart phone or web interface. In another embodiment, the components of the system are communicatively coupled through wireless means. In yet another embodiment, the monitoring system additionally comprises a visual monitoring device. The monitoring pad provides the signal that is filtered to isolate various components representing the subject's motion, respiration, and heartbeat. The system may be programmed to provide alerts and subject stimulation based on various trigger points tied to thresholds in the measurements.
