Abstract: Digital rights management progressive control and background processing techniques are described. In one or more implementations, a digital rights management module is embedded as part of the content. In one example, the digital rights management module is configured to monitor user interaction with items of the content and user traits collected from this monitoring to progressively control access to other items of the digital content. In another example, the digital rights management module is configured for execution in the background of a computing device, e.g., without rendering of a user interface or accepting user inputs. This background processing is used to monitor interaction of the user with the computing device that is independent of the content. This includes other content, applications, interaction with service providers (e.g., websites such as a social network), wearable devices, the computing device itself, and so forth.

Abstract: Digital rights management techniques are described that address traits of a behavior of a user population that is to interact with digital content as part of a virtual or augmented reality environment. A digital rights management (DRM) module is implemented to manage a digital rights management policy to dynamically address traits and changes to the traits of a behavior of users that consume the digital content as part of an augmented or virtual reality environment. In another example, the DRM module may be configured to control access to physical objects through use of digital content output by an output device as part of the augmented or virtual reality environment.

Subsequent to termination of the on-line collaboration meeting, the conference management system utilizes the access policy to prevent unauthorized access to the shared content. For example, the conference management system can receive a request from a user to access the shared content. The management system checks to determine whether the user was a participant at the on-line collaboration meeting.

The system may reside at a collaboration host and may include a session manager to manage a collaborative session associated with a plurality of participants, a shared view detector to detect a request to distribute shared content to participants of the collaborative session, a policy module to obtain a rights management policy associated with at least a portion of the shared content, a filter generator to generate a filter based on the obtained rights management policy, and a shared view distributor to distribute the shared content to the participants of the collaborative session together with the filter.
