Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device that manages a thermal profile of a device by selectively throttling input/output operations of the device is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device monitors the thermal profile of the device, where the device executes a plurality of processes that utilize storage of the device. In addition, the plurality of processes include a high priority process and a low priority process. If the thermal profile of the device exceeds a thermal threshold, the device decreases a first bandwidth range for the low priority process and maintains a second bandwidth range for the high priority process. The device further processes a storage request of the low priority process using the first bandwidth range and processing a storage request of the high priority process using the second bandwidth range.

Abstract: A control system for enabling user access of data records stored in a relational database in an object oriented way has a first object model representing a class mapped to a table in the relational database, a second object model representing a query object modeled after the first object model according to the same modeling framework, a software parser for reading the information contained in the first and second object models, a model generator for building a representative model from aggregated information from the first and second models, and a code generator for scanning the representative model and generating the appropriate application code for each node in the representative model.

Abstract: Method for automatically migrating power builder application to an open architecture is disclosed. The method includes converting to ASCII character format stream, parsing the stream to form constructs, generating a model from the constructs, analyzing the model and building trees in the model in the power builder format. The apparatus of the invention includes a schema of trees, one set, representing trees in the power builder format and another set in the selected open architecture format and a set of mappings defining correspondence between the two sets. Trees in one set are transformed into the other and attached in the model. An Unparser is provided having a class generator which generates classes including a global variable class in the open architecture and the classes are filled with the help of the parser and a model traverser by querying and responses thereto.
