  • Patent number: 10789230
Abstract: Systems and processes that group and present telemetry data for an application monitoring visualization are described. A plurality of telemetry items having telemetry data is grouped into a type having a plurality of dimensions. The telemetry data is presented in a first set of values of a first dimension of the plurality of the dimensions against a measurement as elements in a primary section of the visualization. The telemetry data is presented in a second set of values of a second dimension of the plurality of the dimensions in counts as elements in a filter section of the visualization.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 4, 2017
Date of Patent: September 29, 2020
    Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLC
Inventors: Arun M. Abraham, Vu T. Tran, Dimah S M Zaidalkilani, John R. Gardner, Jr.

  • Publication number: 20150186253
Abstract: Performance testing is streamlined to facilitate assessing software performance. A performance test can be authored similar to familiar functional tests but with a tag that indicates the test is a performance test and specifies a data collection mechanism. Performance data collected during test execution can subsequently be reported to a software developer in various ways. Performance testing can also be integrated with one or more of a team development system or an individual development system.

  • Patent number: 8677316
Abstract: Architectural design intent for software is represented in some type of concrete form. A set of computable rules are inferred from the representation of the architectural design intent. The rules are applied to the codebase at various points in the development process including but not limited to when source code is checked into a project or when a build is run, or when a test run is performed. If the codebase being developed is not consistent with the architectural intent of the designer as captured, feedback concerning non-compliance is provided.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: March 18, 2014
    Assignee: Microsoft Corporation
Inventors: Suhail Dutta, David N Trowbridge, Bernard Tschirren, Arun M. Abraham
