  • Patent number: 8006112
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing blades in the event of a power supply unit failure are disclosed. A method may include determining whether a reduced power capacity of the non-failed power supply units is sufficient to provide an aggregate minimum power requirement of the resources in response to a failure of a particular power supply unit. The method may also include powering down a low-priority resource and not powering down a second resource having a higher priority than the low-priority resource if the reduced power capacity of the non-failed power supply units is not sufficient to provide the aggregate minimum power requirement of the resources.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 9, 2008
Date of Patent: August 23, 2011
    Assignee: Dell Products L.P.
    Inventors: Ashish Munjal, Arun Muthaiyan
  • Patent number: 7870443
Abstract: The present disclosure relates in general to embedded information handling systems, and more particularly to systems and methods for isolating a crash of an embedded multi-threaded application to a shared library call in embedded information handling systems.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 23, 2008
Date of Patent: January 11, 2011
    Assignee: Dell Products L.P.

  • Publication number: 20100211804
Abstract: Infrastructure power resources of a chassis information handling system are made available to run chassis information handling system modules when infrastructure devices are not using the power resources. For example, cooling fans that cool information handling system modules supported by an information handling system chassis run at variable speeds having variable power consumption. A power reserve maintained to run the cooling fans at full speed if needed is made available to information handling system modules when under power management by a chassis manager.
