  • Publication number: 20250183450
Abstract: A battery housing for an automobile includes a lower tub, and an upper cover is disposed on the lower tub to collectively define an internal cavity. At least one battery module is disposed in the internal cavity and enclosed between the lower tub and the upper cover. At least one of the lower tub or the upper cover is formed as a one-piece stamped component. In a preferred arrangement, both of the lower tub and the upper cover of the battery housing are each formed as one-piece stamped components to provide a sealed design for the resultant battery housing.

  • Publication number: 20250091651
Abstract: A pillar for a vehicle including at least two different localized areas of different tensile strengths. The pillar includes a body defining a width that merges into sidewalls at a transition. The body having a first tensile strength and the transition has a second tensile strength, wherein the first tensile strength is smaller than the second tensile strength. The variety in tensile strength resulting from at least one of varying the material treatment and varying the gauge. The pillar is press-hardened until it reaches a tensile strength of 1500 MPa to 2000 MPa.

  • Publication number: 20240202906
Abstract: An automated inspection system comprises a camera configured to capture an image of a subject item, and a processor in communication with the camera and programmed to recognize the subject item in the image. The processor is configured to determine, from the image, the presence, location, or other properties of a feature of the subject item. The processor may present an augmented reality display as an overlay onto a live image of the subject item. The system may include a portable computing device including the camera and a display screen presenting the augmented reality display with one or more overlays onto a live image of the subject item. The overlays may include icons indicating a feature being recognized as being present and non-defective, or an error icon indicating a missing or defective feature. The portable computing device may include an internal illuminator and/or an external illuminator.
