Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for receiving content and closed captioning text based on audio in the content. Alternative closed captioning text and/or alternative audio may be generated based on a translation of the content. Voice characteristics of recognized speech may be used in the generation of alternative closed captioning text and/or alternative audio. Further, the alternative closed captioning text and/or alternative audio may be outputted in place of the original closed captioning text and/or audio.

Abstract: Methods and systems for preserving user privacy in captured content are disclosed. A device may capture content in a location. A user located at or near the location may not want to be depicted in the content. The user may be associated with a user device comprising a privacy setting (e.g., an opted-out device). The opted-out device may receive content features associated with the content. The opted-out device may determine if the user is depicted in the content by comparing the content features to a local content feature stored on the opted-out device. If the content features correspond to the local content feature, the opted-out device may determine that the user is depicted in the content. The opted-out device may protect the privacy of the user by causing the device to obfuscate the identity of the user in the content.

The one or more images may be analyzed to determine text data displayed in the one or more images. The text data may be used to determine the content being output by the device.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for modifying language and/or recording settings of a computing device based on audio data. Audio data comprising speech may be received by a computing device. The computing device may process the audio data to determine one or more properties of speech of one or more users. Based on the one or more properties of the speech, language settings and/or recording settings may be modified. For example, subtitles may be displayed or removed, accessibility features may be implemented, different content may be displayed, and/or machine translation functions may be activated. Such language and/or recording settings may be stored in a user profile, which may be used by a variety of computing devices.

Abstract: Upon detection of a gesture, a current context of an environment in which the gesture is performed may be determined. The current context may be used to interpret the gesture to determine which of potentially a plurality of devices are to be controlled by the gesture and whether the gesture is configured to control the determined device(s) in the current context. The current context may also be used to determine whether to adjust a threshold for determining whether the gesture is intended as a control command. An aspect of the detected gesture may be compared to the threshold to determine whether the gesture is intended as a control command. If the gesture is intended as a control command, the determined device(s) may be controlled accordingly.
