Patent number: 12258749Abstract: A hanger for attaching a structural beam to a building substructure has a first panel spaced from a second panel with a web extending therebetween. The web includes a bias member or compression member for biasing a beam upward. The web may include an opening through the bias member for receipt of a fastener driven from underneath the web into a beam received by the web, whereby driving of the fastener into the beam pulls the beam downward against the bias of the compression member. Additional versions exist with different leveraging surfaces to assist the fastener in pulling the beam downward. The hanger may also include one or more openings in the side panels, each opening associating with an opening in a rear panel to receive a fastener driven obliquely through a side panel opening into a beam and a building support member to attach the beam.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2021Date of Patent: March 25, 2025Assignee: OMG Building Products LLCInventors: Peter Barenski, Jr., Logan Carlson, Timothy F. Gillis, Arun Srinivasan Venkatesan, Frederick A. Enko

Publication number: 20250094259Abstract: Power sourcing equipment (“PSE”) can temporarily suspend or indefinitely disable powered devices (“PDs”) exhibiting faults for more efficient resource utilization and preservation of the PSE hardware. The PSE maintains a first counter for each connected PD that indicates a count of fault events detected for the PD. Upon detecting a count of fault events for a PD within a designated time period that exceeds a first threshold, the PSE suspends the PD and increments a second counter maintained for the PD that indicates how many times the PD has been suspended. The PSE suspends processing of/responding to communications received from the suspended PD for the duration of the suspension. Subsequent fault detection and suspension for the PD can continue until the suspension count of the PD exceeds a second threshold, which triggers disabling of the faulty PD by discontinuing processing of/responding to communications received from the PD indefinitely.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 26, 2024Publication date: March 20, 2025Inventors: Suryakant Devangan, Jeslin Antony Puthenparambil, Sneha Srinivasan, Arun Athrey Chandrasekaran

Publication number: 20240261943Abstract: A fastener installation assembly has a head with a fastener opening and a connector for connecting the head to a driving tool so that a fastener can be driven through the hole. A guide assembly with a locator is pivotally mounted to the head. The locator may be removable from the guide assembly and movable so that its locator surface is movable relative to a guide surface of the guide assembly. The locator may include a locator guide that is movable relative to the locator so that a position of an end of the locator guide relative to the locator surface is adjustable. The locator guide may be removable from the locator. The guide assembly is pivotable between multiple angular positions to vary the angle at which a fastener is driven into building materials which the guide assembly and locator engage.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2024Publication date: August 8, 2024Inventors: R. Timothy Irwin, Mark A. Dicaire, Christopher C. Will, David L. Mathieu, Timothy F. Gillis, Arun Srinivasan Venkatesan, Jonathan W. Dezielle

Patent number: 11975424Abstract: An adaptor for a fastener driver assembly employs a bi-positionable angle guide assembly mounted to a head having an entry reference surface defining an opening for a fastener. The adaptor provides a proper location and entry angle for the fastener for implementing various structural connections. A pivotal angle guide has a pair of reference engagement edges functionally configured to engage either an upper horizontal member or a lower horizontal member. A locator having a location reference is mounted to the guide assembly. In one mode, the reference edges, together with the location reference, define a proper entry location and normal angle for connecting a horizontal member, which may be either an upper plate or a lower plate, to a rim board or other structural member. The selected adaptor position is achieved by securing the adaptor in one of two stable angular positions relative to the drive axis of the fastener driver assembly.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2020Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: OMG, Inc.Inventors: R. Timothy Irwin, Mark A. Dicaire, Christopher C. Will, David L. Mathieu, Timothy F. Gillis, Arun Srinivasan Venkatesan, Jonathan W. Dezielle

Publication number: 20240011287Abstract: A floating connection fastening system employs a semi-flexible floating bushing having a sleeve with an axial slot which captures a fastener having a head, an unthreaded shank portion, a threaded portion and an intermediate reamer. An adapter mounts to the bushing/fastener assembly and receives a driver bit. The adapter defines an offset clearance. The floating connection is installed by driving the fastener through a non-load bearing member so as to form a bore and embed the fastener into a load bearing member. The floating bushing has a flange which engages the surface of the non-load bearing member. The installation may be performed in essentially a one-step procedure.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2023Publication date: January 11, 2024Inventors: Arun Srinivasan Venkatesan, Timothy F. Gillis, Frederick A. Enko, Mark A. Dicaire

Patent number: 11808034Abstract: A floating connection fastening system employs a semi-flexible floating bushing having a sleeve that may have an axial slot which captures a fastener having a head, an unthreaded shank portion and a threaded portion. The sleeve may have an outer primary surface and a plurality of protuberances that project outward from the outer primary surface. An offset cap mounts to the bushing/fastener assembly and receives a driver bit. The offset cap defines an offset clearance for installation of the fastener and bushing. The floating connection is installed by driving the fastener through a non-load bearing member so as to form a bore and threadably engage a load bearing member. The floating bushing has a flange which engages the surface of the non-load bearing member, and the sleeve is entirely received in the formed bore.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2019Date of Patent: November 7, 2023Assignee: OMG, Inc.Inventors: Arun Srinivasan Venkatesan, Timothy F.
