    Abstract: A method and system for managing source cell connection during a Dual Active Protocol Stack (DAPS) handover with respect to a UE. The method includes establishing, while maintaining DAPS data bearers with a source cell, DAPS data bearers with a target cell during DAPS handover in response to receiving a DAPS handover message from the source cell. The method monitors a plurality of channel condition parameters of the target cell upon successful establishment of the DAPS data bearers with the target cell. Thereafter, the method determines whether a value of each of the monitored plurality of channel condition parameters is more than a respective predefined threshold value, if so, the DAPS data bearers with the source cell are managed.

    Abstract: A method for optimizing PWS message reception in multi-SIM multi-standby UE and UE thereof are disclosed. In an embodiment, the method includes receiving a scheduling information of SIBs containing a PWS message from a first network entity and the scheduling information of SIBs containing the PWS message from second network entity. The method checks whether a PWS message identifier is present in a primary CBS configuration list of the first SIM and if so, receives the SIBs based on the scheduling information. The method checks whether the PWS message identifier is present in a secondary CBS configuration list of the second SIM, and terminates reception of the SIBs by the second SIM when the PWS message identifier is absent. A CBS notification is sent by the first SIM, containing the PWS message to a CBS controller in the absence of error while receiving the PWS message from the SIBs.

    Abstract: Provided is a method for performing a cell search operation that includes: determining whether a User Equipment (UE) is camped on a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) among a plurality of RATs and supports camping on a second RAT; acquiring first information corresponding to a first Public Land Mobile Network Identity (PLMN ID) associated with the first RAT and at least one first inter-RAT (IRAT) frequency, the at least one first IRAT frequency being associated with the first RAT; storing the first information corresponding to the first PLMN ID in a database of the UE; detecting an occurrence of one or more first events indicating that the UE is required to leave the first RAT and camp on another RAT to handle the event; performing the cell search operation corresponding to the first PLMN ID based on the stored first information to camp the UE on the second RAT.
