    Abstract: A control to yieldably restrain the depression of the accelerator pedal of a motor vehicle after a certain initial amount of depression. A spring is coupled at a first end to either the accelerator pedal or throttle linkage such that free travel of the accelerator pedal and linkage is allowed over a predetermined distance, and thereafter further movement of the accelerator pedal and linkage is opposed by the action of the spring second end being biased against a fixed portion of the motor vehicle.
