    Abstract: A method for converting agricultural biomass or industrial bio waste into biofuel using concentrated radiated energy is disclosed. Biomass or bio waste is stored inside a batch reactor in either solid or semisolid state. Unwanted moisture and unwanted oxygen are removed from the stored agricultural biomass or industrial bio waste. Concentrated radiated energy is directed towards the biomass or bio waste through a radiated energy concentrator that focuses the concentrated radiated energy. Biomass or bio waste is kept within the depth of focus of the concentrated radiated energy during the conversion operation. Due to substantial matching of the absorption peak of biomass or bio waste with the emission peak of the concentrated radiated energy, the biomass or bio waste that is within the depth of focus instantaneously decomposes into biofuel. The biofuel thus generated is at ambient temperature with higher energy density.

    Abstract: A system and method to automatically generate valuable cutting plans for a rough gemstone is disclosed. An apparatus having a gemstone holding fixture holds the rough gemstone to be evaluated. Camera captures multiple external images of the rough gemstone being rotated and illuminated. A three-dimensional external image of the rough gemstone including external imperfections is generated using a software governed image processing device. After immersing the gemstone inside a medium that has a refractive index substantially same as that of the gemstone, camera captures multiple internal images of the rough gemstone being rotated and illuminated. Three-dimensional images of impurities inside the rough gemstone are generated and combined with the three-dimensional external image of the rough gemstone. Correct locations, shapes, and sizes of the internal impurities and external imperfections of the rough gemstone are identified.

    Abstract: A laser bruting machine has three sections: (i) a diamond holder, (ii) a set up device and (iii) a processing device. The diamond holder includes a rough diamond, a stitching die and a magnetic die. The rough diamond stone to be centered and bruted is stitched on top of the stitching die by adhesive and heat. The stitching die is then fixed on top of the magnetic die. The setup device includes a computer numerical control (CNC) interface and video system. The diamond to be centered, and hence the diamond holder, is put vertically on motorized rotatable platform. After completion of centering the diamond, the diamond holder is carried to a processing device and fixed horizontally on a motorized rotatable platform of the processing device. The processing device includes a CNC interface, a heat exchanger, a video system, a beam delivery mechanism, a laser source, an RF-Q switch driver, a power supply and a stabilizer.
