Publication number: 20180041952Abstract: Access control node (200), access device (202A), tethering device (204), and methods therein, for enabling wireless access to a communications network (208). One or more access devices (202) having a wireless connection to the network (208) provide (2:1) relay properties to an access control node (200). When detecting (2:2) that network access is wanted for the tethering device (204), the access control node (200) selects (2:3) an access device (202A) based on the obtained relay properties, to be used for sharing wireless connection with the tethering device (204). The access control node (200) then instructs (2:4) the selected access device (202A) to be available as a relay to the communications network (208) for the tethering device (204) via a wireless link between the access device (202A) and the tethering device (204). The tethering device (204) can then access (2:8) the communications network over the wireless link.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2016Publication date: February 8, 2018Inventors: Selim Ickin, Åsa Bertze, Steven Corroy, Jing Fu

Publication number: 20150172469Abstract: According to one aspect of the teachings herein, preliminary or pending charging information is generated for content that is pre-fetched to a user device via a communication network. The pending charging information is finalized, e.g., for use in offline charging, responsive to determining that the pre-fetched content was consumed at the user device, or voided responsive to determining that the pre-fetched content was not consumed. Finalized charging information may reflect, for example, the amount of pre-fetched content actually consumed at the user device and other parameters, such as when and/or how the pre-fetched content was delivered, the nature of the pre-fetched content, etc. Further, the determination as to whether and/or how much of the pre-fetched content was consumed at the user device may be made based on received control-plane signaling and/or elapsed time, e.g., where the content is perishable.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2013Publication date: June 18, 2015Inventors: Icaro L. Publication number: 20140286313Abstract: A method in a network node for improving transmission control protocol, TCP, performance in a cellular network is provided. The network node handles TCP packet transferral between a user equipment and a server in the cellular network. Patent number: 8804492Abstract: A method is provided in a network management node for handling an alarm caused by a fault in a communications system. An alarm caused by a fault in the communications system is received from a first network element within the communications system. The alarm is associated with an identity of the first network element, and an alarm time associated with the time when the alarm was active. After receiving the alarm, the network management node sends a request to a user activity database, requesting one or more matching records. Each of the matching records is requested to comprise an identity equal to the identity of the first network element associated with the alarm, and a record time period that comprises the time when the alarm was active.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2009Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Äsa Bertze, Andras Valkó, András Veres
