  • Patent number: 5583944
Abstract: A speaker having a diaphragm with an outer peripheral part. A voice coil is disposed within and coupled to the diaphragm, the voice coil supported by a voice coil bobbin with the voice coil having at least two lead wires. The speaker includes a generally cup-shaped frame with the diaphragm disposed inside of the frame so that an outer peripheral part of the diaphragm is coupled to the frame with a damper disposed inside of the cup-shaped frame so that adhesive on the outer part of the damper is used to adhere the damper to the frame.

  • Patent number: 5455867
Abstract: The speaker apparatus of the invention having a speaker for radiating sound waves, an acoustic pipe having a slender opening and a rectangular form, with the front opening joined to the outer wall side of a cathode-ray tube and inner wall side of a cabinet of television receiver, being disposed at the front side of the speaker, and a sound leading part composed of a hollow part surrounded between the outer wall side of the cathode-ray tube and the inner wall side of the cabinet, from the junction to the opening of the cabinet, for guiding the sound waves radiated from the acoustic pipe to the front side of the television receiver, thereby realizing acoustic reproduction of high sound quality and high sound pressure, when applied in the television receiver, in spite of small size and slim shape.

  • Patent number: 5229555
Abstract: In the speaker system, an acoustic pipe for conducting a sound wave is arranged in front of a speaker for reproducing a middle and low frequency sound. The acoustic pipe has a rectangular open end portion. A speaker for reproducing a high frequency sound is disposed within the acoustic pipe coaxially with and in front of the speaker for reproducing the middle and low frequency. With this construction, attenuation of middle and high frequency components of sound signals which are produced from the middle and low frequency sound reproducing speaker is suppressed. Moreover, it is possible to conduct the high and middle frequency components and a high frequency component, which is reproduced by the high frequency sound reproducing speaker, as naturally composed sound signals to the open end portion of the acoustic pipe. The speaker system thus exhibits excellent characteristics in sound image localization and articulation of sound, thereby providing a high tone quality to the TV.
