Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes sending an electronic invitation to an endpoint associated with a user. The electronic invitation requests that the user attend a conference session to be held at a specified time over a network. Code running on the server selects one or more different resources currently available during the conference session. The one or more different resources is selected to optimize a quality of service (QoS) criteria. Execution of the code causes the server to move the conference session to the one or more different resources responsive to a triggering event. Abstract: Techniques for storing voicemails in real-time in a caller's voicemail system when a voicemail is left in a callee's voicemail system are provided. A connection to the callee's voicemail system is detected during a call from the caller to the callee. When a voicemail is being left on the caller's voicemail system, a copy of the voicemail message is automatically forked to the caller's voicemail system. Thus, when a voicemail message is recorded on the callee's voicemail system, a copy of the voicemail message is also stored on the caller's voicemail system.

Abstract: A conference adapter. In an illustrative embodiment, the conference adapter implements a method for interfacing one or more conference endpoints with one or more conference servers. The method includes registering an endpoint and a conference server to determine endpoint registration information associated with the endpoint and to determine conference-server registration information associated with the conference server. Abstract: A system and method for providing captioning in a conference. In an illustrative embodiment, the method includes establishing a conference between a first participant and a second participant. The conference exhibits an exchange of a first type of media between the participants. A user option is provided to augment the conference with a second type of media corresponding to the first type of media. The second type of media is then generated based on one or more conference parameters in response to the signal. In a more specific embodiment, the second type of media is automatically generated. The first type of media is provided approximately concurrently with the second type of media. The second type of media, which may represent text captions, is then selectively provided to one or more participants in the conference based on predetermined preferences.

Abstract: Disclosed are conferencing systems, devices, architectures, and methods for managing a conference spanning system to facilitate participation in a plurality of conferences at the same time. An exemplary system having devices and/or structures in accordance with embodiments can include: (i) a plurality of conferences, each conference being configured to support a plurality of media modes; (ii) a presentation mechanism configured to support the plurality of media modes from the plurality of conferences; and (iii) a selector for selecting a conference from the plurality of conferences and designating the selected conference as an active conference and designating non-selected conferences as background conferences, wherein the active conference is assigned at least one enhanced media mode in the presentation mechanism.
