    Abstract: Some embodiments include a stand that includes a communication interface, a universal serial bus (USB) microcontroller, and one dual purpose RJ12 interface configured to switch between a cash drawer mode and an RS232 mode. The stand can be configured to be coupled to a main display device. The main display device (e.g., an application running on the main display device) can enable selection of the cash drawer mode for communications via the dual purpose RJ12 interface, and receive an input signal after the selection. The main display device can enable selection of the RS232 mode for communications via the dual purpose RJ12 interface based on the input signal and transmit an indication to the stand, where the dual purpose RJ12 interface is configured to operate in the RS232 mode. The stand can include a hinge structure that enables the main display device to be flipped to face an opposite direction.

In host mode, the secure conferencing device coupled to an interactive digital signage (IDS) device, grants conference control to a host computer of the IDS device. The secure conferencing device receives a guest control signal and a guest video stream from a guest device, where the secure conferencing device prevents the guest control signal from being communicated to the host computer, yet transmits the guest video stream to the host computer for display on the IDS device. In the guest mode, the secure conferencing device grants conference control to a guest device, enables the guest device to affect a component of the IDS device, but does not enable the guest device to communicate guest control signals to the host computer of the IDS device.

Some embodiments include creating and implementing a POE profile that specifies how power is utilized when the POE touchscreen system is powered by a POE-DC signal (e.g., reducing one or more of: a number of active USB ports, active audio devices, or touchscreen brightness to a %.) Some embodiments include detecting a power loss, and using one or more POE super capacitors to provide power for completion of critical functions that enable a graceful shut down. One or more of the POE super capacitors may be located in the snap on POE module, or in a main unit of the monitor.

    Abstract: Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for receiving non-standard video data via a single standard universal serial bus (USB) interface, where the non-standard video data includes sensor data from one or more sensors in addition to standard video frames from an image detector. Some embodiments include recovering a standard video picture encoding packet from a standard USB packet, and recovering non-standard video data. Some embodiments include detecting a pseudo-video frame within the non-standard video data, determining sensor data from one or more sensors from the pseudo-video frame, and transmitting the sensor data to a monitor scaler processor. Some embodiments include storing the standard USB packet, and in response to the detecting, discarding the pseudo-video frame.
