  • Patent number: 9327099
Abstract: A medical tube harness that a subject wears to organize, orient and support medical tubes and reduce the potential for unintentional tugging, kinking, and/or dislodging of the tubes as they extend from a subject's internal cavities, organs, orifices and/or anchor sites on the subject. The harness can improve patient comfort and safety, and can provide multiple locations for strategic tube placement.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 3, 2014
Date of Patent: May 3, 2016
    Assignee: Spectrum Health Innovations, LLC
Inventors: Teresa Lynn Wainscott, Andrew John Rodenhouse, Andrew John Vander Moren, Asghar Khaghani, Richard Allen Kanten, Ryan Anthony Bozio

  • Publication number: 20090118826
Abstract: A heart valve prosthesis having a plurality of leaflets encircling a flow opening and of size to coapt to form a valve, each leaflet having a free outflow edge at the outflow end of the leaflet, wherein the free outflow edge forms a convex (relative to the leaflet) curve in the plane of the leaflet, and methods for forming such a valve. A stentless heart valve prosthesis suitable for replacement of the aortic root comprising an outer wall and a plurality of leaflets positioned inside the outer wall, encircling a flow opening and of size to coapt to form a valve, wherein the outer wall and leaflets are formed from material other than natural valve material, and methods of forming such a valve prosthesis.

  • Patent number: 6984201
Abstract: A blood circulation assistance device (1), for location around a blood conduit (20). The device comprises: an inflatable bladder (10) moveable between a contracted form and an expanded form, for compressing the blood conduit (20) to provide counterpulsation. Pump means (30) in fluid communication with the bladder (10) move the bladder (10) from the contracted form to the expanded form. The pump means (30) comprises a centrifugal impeller (62) rotatable about an axis (61) to effect pumping. The impeller (62) is moveable axially between first and second positions to effect a reversal of the direction of pumping. Control means (50), in communication with the pump means, is capable of monitoring the cardiac cycle of an individual and triggering the pump means (30) to move the bladder (10) to the expanded form at diastole. An outer cuff, surrounds at least a portion of the bladder (10), providing an outer limiting extent to the movement of the bladder (10).
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 10, 2006
    Assignee: Harefield Cardiac Limited
