    Abstract: A system and method are provided for modifying one portion of a user interface according to an interaction with a message, by displaying content associated with an item. The method includes receiving a message from a correspondent in a conversational message exchange; processing the message to detect at least one portion of the message indicative of an item; and displaying the message in a first portion of a user interface and identifying the at least one portion of the message. The method also includes detecting an interaction with the message; and modifying a second portion of the user interface comprising content associated with the correspondent, according to the interaction with the message, the modifying comprising displaying content associated with the item.
