  • Publication number: 20240253649
Abstract: In a first aspect, this specification describes a method which comprises receiving, at a stationary vehicle, a user input to cause the vehicle to enter an autonomous mode; highlighting, by a portable user device, subsequent to the vehicle entering the autonomous mode and prior to the vehicle moving, a target location; receiving, by the vehicle, an indication of the target location and a request to travel to the target location; and causing the vehicle to autonomously travel to the target location without human supervision.

  • Patent number: 10696165
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for controlling a range extender (104) in an electric vehicle (100). The apparatus comprises means for receiving trip information, means for retrieving power usage information relating to a previous trip, the previous trip having trip information which is at least in part in common with the trip information; and means for activating the range extender (104) in dependence on said power usage information. The invention also extends to an associated method, computer product and system.

  • Publication number: 20200001858
Abstract: A range extender for a vehicle, comprises an electric machine; an engine; and a controller, wherein the controller is configured to control fuelling of the engine, and is configured to control the electric machine to charge a battery of the vehicle using power from the engine and at other times to control the electric machine to drive the engine using power from the battery, wherein the controller is configured to increase the engine speed by controlling the electric machine to drive the engine using power from the battery whilst substantially not fuelling the engine.

  • Publication number: 20020171039
Abstract: A system and method for advertising and content presentation in the sky. An artificial cloud is created by an aircraft, which adds water vapor and particles to the atmosphere and color if desired. The artificial cloud or alternately, a natural cloud is used as a background for delivering a visual image. This can be achieved by projecting an image onto the cloud by either laser or visible light sources. Projection of the image is preferably performed from an aircraft. The artificial cloud or alternately, a natural cloud can be used as a base for cutting the cloud into the shape of the image, which is performed by dissipating the cloud from an aircraft, or alternately an image shape can be cut out of the cloud. This method can be exploited for clearing clouds in places such as above an airport in order to increase navigational visibility.
