  • Publication number: 20180324860
Abstract: Method for transmitting signals on a transmission channel (103), comprising the steps of detecting (S101) a channel occupancy of a transmission channel (103) by processing data from a receiving path (105) after an activation of a transmission path (111); and deactivating (S102) the transmission path (111) on the basis of the detected channel occupancy.

  • Publication number: 20180288804
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method by a radio node (110, 115) operating in multiple modes for power detection includes operating in a first mode. While operating in the first mode power levels of transmissions on a channel are compared to a first threshold to determine whether the channel is free. While operating the radio node (110, 115) in the first mode, power levels within a specified range are detected during a first time period. In response to detecting the power levels within the specified range during the first time period, the radio node (110, 115) is switched to a second mode that is a duty-cycle mode. While operating the radio node (110, 115) in the second mode, the power levels of the transmissions on the channel are compared to a second threshold during a first portion of a duty cycle and to a third threshold during a second portion of the duty cycle to determine whether the channel is free. The third threshold is different from the second threshold.

  • Publication number: 20170257890
Abstract: Systems and/or methods of receiving communications at a receiving node that communicates with a transmitting node over a first communication channel and a second communication channel are disclosed. The method includes receiving, at the receiving node, a request-to-send message from the transmitting node over the first communication channel, the request-to-send message indicating that the transmitting node has data to be transmitted to the receiving node over the second communication channel, determining at the receiving node whether the second communication channel is available for reception of the data, in response to determining that the second communication channel is available for reception of the data, reserving the second communication channel for use by the transmitting node, and receiving the data from the transmitting node over the second communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20160381707
Abstract: Systems and methods of performing a listen-before-talk (LBT) radio protocol in a communication system are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a method (600) by a radio component (403, 503) of a wireless device (400, 500) may include receiving (601), by the radio component, from a baseband component (401, 501) of the wireless device, transmit data during a transmit-time interval associated with a synchronous wireless communication system. Further, the method may include, detecting (603), by the radio component, that a medium associated with an asynchronous communication system is available. Also, in response to detecting, the method may include, transmitting (605), by the radio component, the transmit data on the medium during the transmit-time interval.

  • Patent number: 8358269
Abstract: A user may wear the radio frequency human interface device on a body portion and move the body portion over any even and un-even surface that is not touch sensitive to provide inputs. The radio frequency human interface device may sense, encode, and provide the radio frequency signals to a computing system. The computing system may be provisioned with a radio frequency reader that may receive the radio frequency signal and decode the radio frequency signal before responding to the input. Also, a plurality of users may use radio frequency human interface devices to provide inputs to the computing system concurrently.

  • Patent number: 7801235
Abstract: A wireless communication device that includes more than two antennas considers only two of those antennas for use in receiving any particular wireless packet. During reception of an initial portion of a wireless packet, a quality metric may be measured for each of the two antennas being considered. One of the two antennas may then be selected to receive a payload portion of the wireless packet based on the measured metrics. In at least one embodiment, a different pair of antennas is considered for each successive received packet.
