  • Patent number: 10042659
Abstract: A method for providing access by a virtual context to a physical instance includes receiving a request to access a physical instance of a plurality of physical instances of a hardware resource of a device. The request is associated with a virtual machine of a plurality of virtual machines. The method next determines that one of the physical instances is available, and assigns a virtual context associated with the virtual machine to access the one of the physical instances when the one of the physical instances is available. The assigning comprises retrieving the virtual context from a memory of the device and loading the virtual context into the one of the physical instances. The method then stores the virtual context in the memory after the one of the physical instances is accessed by the virtual context.

  • Publication number: 20180202237
Abstract: A system comprises a wellsite including a wellbore location and a BOP positioned at the wellbore location, a drilling rig in the wellsite and including a rig floor and at least one substructure, the substructure having a longitudinal axis, and a first access area defined as the area between a pair of lines extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the substructure such that the BOP is between the lines, the first access area being free of equipment that is not in transit. The first access area may include a left access area on a first side of the rig, which area may be free of equipment that is not in transit. A method for drilling may include maintaining the left access area free of equipment during rig-up and may further include moving the rig within the wellsite while maintaining at least the left access area free of equipment.

  • Patent number: 10019308
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for providing fault tolerant processing of events. The system includes multiple consensus computers configured to communicate with one another and multiple event processors configured to process data such as events. Each consensus computer is further configured to receive a request to process a unit of data from an event processor. A consensus computer communicates with at least one other consensus computer to reach consensus as to whether the unit of data has previously been assigned to an event processor for processing. Then, a consensus computer sends a message to the event processor that sent the inquiry including instructions to either process the unit of data or not process the unit of data. Because the consensus computers determine whether a unit of data has previously been assigned to an event processor, the system ensures that an event is not processed more than once.

  • Publication number: 20180150543
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains a set of derived data sets for use by a set of clients. For each derived data set in the set of derived data sets, the system produces a default version of the derived data set from multiple versions of the derived data set. The system then outputs the default version and the multiple versions for retrieval by the set of clients through an online data store, an offline data store, and a nearline data store.
