  • Publication number: 20090240341
Abstract: A tissue prosthesis 100 comprises an envelope 38 of a biologically inert, elastically deformable material capable of being expanded to conform to an interior surface of a cavity 36 formed at a site 10 in a patient's body. A filler material 60 is received in a fluent state in the envelope 38. The filler material 60 is of the same class of material as the envelope 38 to form, when cured, together with the envelope 38, a unified structure.

  • Publication number: 20080195210
Abstract: An intervertebral disc implant (10) includes an envelope (12) of a stretchable and elastically deformable elastomeric material. The envelope includes an attaching formation (74) for attachment of an introducer (76) to enable the envelope, in a collapsed state, to be introduced into a volume of an intervertebral disc that has undergone a nucleotomy. A filler material (14) is receivable in the envelope via the introducer to cause the envelope to expand elastically to conform substantially to the volume in which the envelope is received.

  • Publication number: 20050251005
Abstract: The invention is system for mapping and imaging the interior of a bodily cavity of a patient. The invention comprising a position indication means (63) variably positionable within the bodily cavity; a position detection means (64) for receiving a signal from the position indication means (63) and a processor means that analyses the signal and provides an output indicative of the location of the position indication means (63) relative to the position detection means (64). The invention also comprises a first imaging means (65) positionable within and for producing a first image of the interior, and at least a second imaging (62) means positionable within and for producing a second image of the interior. The second imaging means (62) is movable relative to the first imaging means (65) and positionable in a location wherein first image depicts the location of the second imaging means (62).
