  • Publication number: 20170238067
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed that provide dynamic creative optimization for video advertisements. In certain embodiments, a content creation system receives a request for a video advertisement from a remote computing system. The request represents attributes of a specific recipient. To generate the video advertisement, the content creation system accesses a collection of assets, such as templates and video elements, from which video content can be generated. The content creation system selects a subset of assets from the collection and combines some or all of the selected subset of assets into a composite content file. The content creation system generates (or causes another system to generate) the requested electronic video advertisement or other video content from the composite content file. The content creation system provides the generated video advertisement or other video content in response to the request that was received from the remote computing system.

  • Publication number: 20170214951
Abstract: A digital medium environment is described to determine textual content that is responsible for causing a viewing spike within a video. Video analytics data associated with a video is queried. The video analytics data identifies a number of previous user viewing s at various locations within the video. A viewing spike within the video is detected using the video analytics data. The viewing spike corresponds to an increase in the number of previous user viewings of the video that begins at a particular location within the video. Then, text of one or more video sources or video referral sources read by users prior to viewing the video from the particular location within the video is analyzed to identify textual content that is at least partially responsible for causing the viewing spike.

  • Patent number: 9710140
Abstract: Certain embodiments involve optimizing how interactive content is arranged in electronic communications. A processor identifies a subject matter type associated with first and second online content items having respective first and second presentation types. The processor determines that a client has previously interacted more extensively with online content having the subject matter type and the first presentation type as compared to other online content having the subject matter type and the second presentation type. The processor selects a layout for an electronic communication for accessing the online content items based on determining that the client interacted more extensively with online content having the first presentation type. The layout displays a first portion for accessing the first online content item more prominently than a second portion for accessing the second online content item. The processor presents the layout via an interface for editing the electronic communication.

  • Publication number: 20170169455
Abstract: Offline consumer behavior and interactions are observed using beacons positioned at venues where consumers spend time and interact with each other. The beacons communicate with mobile computing devices that are carried by the observed consumers. The observed consumer behavior provides actionable insights into how consumers influence each other. For example, the people that a particular consumer spends time with form a “circle of influence” associated with that consumer. If the consumer makes a purchase, members of the circle of influence are observed to understand the degree to which they were influenced by the purchase, if at all. Metrics that quantify a consumer's influence over other consumers allow marketers to more effectively target both the influencing and influenced consumers. Also, if relatively little information is known about a particular consumer, that consumer's digital marketing profile can be supplemented using information known about the consumers with whom he/she often spends time.

  • Publication number: 20170102843
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for color selection in a desktop publishing application. A color selection technique includes receiving a selection of an image, automatically sampling a color from a pixel of the selected image, and adding the sampled color to a color swatch in a graphical user interface. The sampled color may be the predominant color in the image (e.g., the color that appears in the greatest number of pixels), or the sampled color may be the darkest or lightest color in the image. In another embodiment, several colors (e.g., two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine or ten) are sampled from different pixels of the selected image, and some or all of the sampled colors are added to the color swatch. A designer can then select the sampled color(s) from the color swatch and apply the selected color(s) to one or more elements of a layout.

  • Publication number: 20170091850
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein identify visitors who visit a real-world shopping venue as belonging to a group. This involves tracking a physical action of a visitor present at the real-world shopping venue and identifying the visitor based on the tracked physical action and previously collected visitor information associated with the venue. The visitor is determined to be a member of a group based on the previously collected visitor information. Based on determining that the visitor is a member of the group, a notification is sent to another member of the group. The notification identifies that the visitor has placed at least one item in a sharing cart while the visitor is present at the real-world shopping venue. A system determines that visitors who routinely visit a real-world shopping venue belong to a group based on their activities while visiting the venue, and allows the visitors to provide feedback to each other.

  • Publication number: 20170052937
Abstract: Techniques to facilitate image searches using context of an image frame in a document are described. In one or more implementations, an image frame included within a document is detected, such as when the frame is inserted or selected. Content in the document in the vicinity of the image frame is analyzed to derive query terms corresponding to the content. Tag elements created for the query terms are exposed to enable selection of individual query terms as search parameters. An image search is conducted using selected query terms and images returned as results of the search are presented a candidates for insertion into the frame. Previews of images as being inserted in the image frame can be exposed show how the document would look with different images placed in the frame. Selection of a particular image from the arrangement causes insertion of the particular image into the image frame.
