  • Publication number: 20250069408
Abstract: Techniques for using machine learning to produce vehicle location sensor data from vision sensor data are disclosed. By using a limited amount of vehicle location sensor data together with vision sensor data, a deep learning network can be trained to produce estimated vehicle location sensor point cloud distributions from, e.g., vision sensor data alone. Using a deep learning network trained in this way, vehicles with limited or no sensor functionality can be equipped with a camera to produce estimated vehicle location sensor point cloud distributions. These estimated vehicle location sensor point cloud distributions can then be compared with general sensor point cloud distributions to improve detection of vehicles, environmental objects, and ghost objects, and subsequently used to improve vehicle safety through vehicle controls or driver notifications and/or to produce enhanced sensor data.

  • Publication number: 20250069324
Abstract: An illustrative point cloud segmentation system generates an instance-wise semantic mask for a particular source image of a set of source images that has been used to construct a 3D point cloud representing a scene that includes one or more objects. The point cloud segmentation system maps a set of 3D points from the 3D point cloud to corresponding 2D points of the particular source image, then labels, based on contours defined by the instance-wise semantic mask to demarcate the one or more objects, the mapped set of 3D points in accordance with where the corresponding 2D point for each mapped 3D point is positioned with respect to the contours. Based on the labeling of the mapped 3D points, the point cloud segmentation system produces a segmented 3D point cloud including an instance-wise segmentation of the one or more objects at the scene. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20250071344
Abstract: Video decoding systems and techniques are described. The decoder applies a deblocking (DB) filter to the plurality of sub-blocks of a block of video data to generate a DB-filtered plurality of sub-blocks. The decoder applies the DB filter to one or more lines (e.g., columns) of pixels in an additional sub-block of the block to generate a DB-filtered portion of the additional sub-block. The one or more lines of pixels in the additional sub-block are filtered without filtering an entirety of the additional sub-block using the DB filter. The additional sub-block is adjacent to at least one of the plurality of sub-blocks. The decoder applies a constrained directional enhancement filter (CDEF) to the DB-filtered plurality of sub-blocks and the DB-filtered portion of the additional sub-block to generate a CDEF-filtered plurality of sub-blocks.
